It’s been a busy week at Langley House with plenty going on. Residents enjoyed a friendly golf tournament, bowls, and a walk out together.

We also marked Chinese New Year and Pancake Day with themed activities, alongside some baking.

There’s been lots of creativity too, with woodwork projects underway as we prepare for our Easter activities within the community. Residents also enjoyed a trip to the hairdresser.

Westoe Grange highlights 💚

Residents have been getting creative this week by making daffodils to create a bright display around the home, helping decorate for Mother’s Day and Easter 🌼

This month, it was impossible to choose just one Employee of the Month, so we decided to celebrate the whole team instead. Staff were treated to a box of drinks and treats for the staff room as a thank you for the outstanding care and support they provide to our service users every day.

Recently at Princess House... 💚

We’ve been marking both Pancake Day and Chinese New Year with plenty of themed activities and good food. Residents enjoyed sweet and sour chicken with spring rolls, along with making colourful Chinese lanterns as part of the celebrations.

There’s also been themed baking, a pamper day with the hairdresser and manicures, plus lots of games and quizzes to keep everyone busy.

It's been busy at Springfield Lodge 💚

We celebrated Chinese New Year with a themed food tasting, where residents enjoyed spring rolls, chow mein noodles, black bean sauce, sesame prawn toast and prawn crackers.

We also had our monthly visit from Mr Motivator, who put us through our paces and kept everyone moving with his usual energy and encouragement.

There was time to relax too, as we reminisced using memory books from the 1940s through to the 1970s, along with local history books about Durham and the North East, sparking plenty of conversation and shared memories.

Celebrations at Princess House 💚

We’ve had lots to celebrate recently with Maureen’s birthday and a lovely Valentine’s party enjoyed by everyone.

We were also delighted to receive some beautiful cards from pupils at St Benet's Primary School, a thoughtful gesture that meant a great deal to residents.

Alongside the celebrations, we’ve been busy with plenty of activities, games, crafts and baking.

Langley House updates 💚

We’ve had another busy week at Langley House, celebrating the Chinese New Year and enjoying the Winter Olympics.

Residents enjoyed bingo, along with a special moment setting off Chinese lanterns to remember loved ones.

We enjoyed a Chinese lunch together, opened fortune cookies, and tried our hand at table tennis.

There’s also been plenty of energy in the lounge with Olympic-inspired games and activities.

We recently celebrated Margaret’s birthday, made even more special by a lovely visit from her newborn great-grandson.

Our ladies were delighted to show off the roses they each received for Valentine’s Day, and we kept the themed fun going with Pancake Day word searches and colouring sheets.

To round things off, we enjoyed a lively visit from John Casey and his Spin and Sing show 🎶✨

This week at The Gardens... 💚

We were certainly feeling the love this week in the run-up to Valentine’s Day. Residents enjoyed themed crafts and decorating biscuits, followed by a visit from a singer who had everyone showing off their dance moves 🎶

On Valentine’s Day, we held a themed coffee morning and enjoyed a game of pass the parcel. The lucky winner got a box of heart-shaped chocolate Baileys. Our birthday girl also enjoyed being part of the celebrations.

Along the way, residents shared some brilliant advice on the secret to a good marriage, plenty of wisdom and a few laughs included 💕
