My son (pictured) has Sotos syndrome, and he is one of the reasons footprints even exists so we are celebrating him today ❤️

Today is Sotos Syndrome Awareness Day and the Child Growth Foundation (CGF) have launch a new inforgraphic (see comments) - you can find out more on their website www.childgrowthfoundation.org/conditions/sotos-syndrome.

Congratulations to those with older children going back to school this week! We did it!! 🙌🏼

We will be back at footprints this Thursday too with a leafy theme.

Craft - leaf bugs, leaf rubbing, leaf birds etc!
Sensory tray will be filled with different coloured leaves to swish around. And of course the dark den with light up toys.
Physical - sensory tactile mats, balance beam, spinner
Plus the Baby area, and toy areas, sit on toys etc.
The Cafe will be ready to serve hot drinks, cold drinks, cakes, biscuits, fruit and savoury snacks.

Come along 1-3pm Ages 0+
Free entry and free cafe - donations gratefully received

I haven't personally tried this so I can't comment on what it's like or how good it is but thought it might be worth sharing anyway. I also don't know how much they know or will tailor it to SEND as it doesn't look SEND specific (which is a whole different ball game!). If anyone does do it I would be interested to know what it's like to pass on to future families x

Warwickshire Libraries are putting the finishing touches to the new mobile sensory public library and need your help!

The Discovery Den - a first for the UK - is a fully equipped, accessible, environmentally-friendly electric vehicle, housing a small interactive sensory space for children and young people with SEND.

To help create the best space possible that meets needs, we want to hear from children/young people with SEND, their parents/carers, and professionals who support people with SEND about the sensory equipment which will be installed in the vehicle.

We are back tomorrow for our camping themed session!!

We have a few tents setup with a ball pit, sensory tents, teepee with campfire, toys, physical area with mini trampoline, rocker and balance toys, baby area and of course our cafe. We also have some board games, table football and crafts for older siblings.

We are back tomorrow 1-3pm
Drop in anytime. Siblings welcome. 👣

This week our theme is seaside/picnics 🏖️ 🧺 so we will have some picnic food for you to have on blankets in the cafe area! (I'll send you a pic when I've setup later!)

Craft will be sand art pictures and other seaside themed crafts
Messy play will be water play (bring spare clothes just in case)
We will also have the usual sensory area with lights and sensory toys, baby area, toy blankets and physical area with balance beam, muffik mats, tunnel and we will have toys/games/crafts available for older ones too.
