A huge congratulations to my patient on completing the Marathon des Sables in Morocco 🇲🇦 often called the “toughest footrace on earth” for good reason!!! It was so lovely to catch up and hear all about his incredible race just a few days after arriving back home 🤩

This is a multi-day ultramarathon across the Sahara Desert, covering roughly 250km over six stages, with self-sufficiency, extreme heat, sandstorms and endless sand dunes all part of the challenge. It’s as much a mental test as it is physical test and finishing it is an incredible achievement in itself 🙌🏼

To come through that with only a few well-earned blisters is seriously impressive, and highlights just how important proper foot care and podiatry are in endurance events. Looking after your feet isn’t just a luxury at this level, it’s essential!!

And of course, the finisher’s jumper (isn’t it gorgeous!!) Totally earned and very well deserved 🔥

An outstanding accomplishment and a real reflection of resilience, preparation, and mindset, truly inspiring 👏

Easter weekend dump 🐣✨

family time, walks, fresh air, horse rides, padel rallies, Pilates, good coffees, chocolate bunnies, date night with my husband 🤍, and even trying dog agility with my gorgeous frenchie 🥰

life lately = full in the best way… even if I have been a bit quiet on here 👀
 just know there’s a lot going on behind the scenes currently and I cannot wait to share it with you all soon 🤭✨

✨ Verruca Needling Transformation – 4 Months Progress ✨

This is a great example of how effective Falknor’s verruca needling can be when treating stubborn verrucas that haven’t responded to over-the-counter treatments 💪🏼

🔬 What is Falknor’s Verruca Needling? It’s a clinical procedure carried out under local anaesthetic, where the verruca is repeatedly punctured with a sterile needle!!

This pushes the virus deeper into the skin, triggering your body’s immune system to recognise and fight it more effectively

End of week round up 🥰❤️

At the start of the week I headed to Liverpool for my first conference since graduating, attending the Foot & Ankle Show. It was such a valuable few days and was spent refreshing my Basic Life Support training and sitting in on lots of interesting talks, keeping my podiatry knowledge up to date 💪🏼

I also spent time exploring the trade stands and seeing all the new products and innovations (some of which may be making their way into the clinic soon 👀)

It was great to connect with other podiatrists, share experiences and meet more people in the profession !!!

And of course… plenty of coffee to keep me fuelled ☕ lots of very good food and a chance to explore Liverpool while I was there😜

A busy but really inspiring start to the week and I’m excited to bring new ideas and knowledge back to the clinic🙌🏼

After a full year of topical antifungal nail lacquers with no improvement, it was time to consider another option.
In this case, we performed a minor nail surgery to remove the affected toenail

For some patients with persistent fungal nail infections (onychomycosis), the infection can sit deep within the nail plate and nail bed, making it very difficult for lacquers alone to pe*****te effectively!!

By removing the infected nail, we reduce the fungal load immediately and we can then treat the exposed nail bed and surrounding skin with a topical antifungal spray, alongside a short course of oral antifungal medication where appropriate

This combined approach gives the new, healthy nail the best possible chance to grow back clear🙌🏼

Fungal nails can be stubborn, and treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all!!
