THE GYM TRUTH NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR:
Cardio is the ultimate life hack - it keeps you alive longer.
Weights are like the secret ingredient that makes those years worth living.
Running adds years to your life, but letโs be real, who wants to live to 90 if they canโt even get off the toilet without help?
Hereโs what actually matters:
Cardio = surviving
Weights = thriving
Your heart needs cardio to keep beating, and your muscles need weights to keep you independent. One lets you see your grandkids, the other lets you pick them up.
The reality check:
That marathon runner who canโt open a jar? Long life, weak existence.
That powerlifter who gets winded walking upstairs? Strong today, dead at 60
You need both. Most people do neither. Do 20 minutes of cardio/walking 3x week. Lift heavy things 3-4x week. Live long AND live well. Or keep making excuses and die slowly in a nursing home. Your call.
