This Dementia Action Week, we’re taking a moment to recognise the people behind every dementia journey.

At Everwood, dementia care is about more than support. It is about familiarity, patience, comfort and connection.

At Heartland Manor, Brock Village has been thoughtfully designed to help residents living with dementia continue to enjoy meaningful moments, gentle stimulation and a genuine sense of belonging.

Cooper the PAT dog came to see our residents, and as always, he was greeted with lots of smiles, fuss and attention. Cooper is a lovely Border Terrier, and our residents absolutely adore his visits.

Animal visits are always a wonderful part of life at Everwood, bringing comfort, companionship and plenty of happy moments.

We’ve also shared this week’s planner, so families can see what our residents have to look forward to over the coming days. 🐾

Last week at Everwood, our residents enjoyed a lovely creative afternoon decorating pebbles with felt pens.

Everyone was encouraged to choose their own design, making each finished pebble unique and personal to them. Once complete, residents took their decorated pebbles back to their rooms to display however they wished.

Two of our ladies also enjoyed a game of Scrabble, before the afternoon finished with tea, coffee and cakes.

A simple activity, but a lovely way to encourage creativity, conversation and a bit of friendly competition.
