👋 Meet Jamie – Registered Home Manager at Little Haven

Jamie leads the team at Everwood Care Charity’s Little Haven Residential Home with a passion for compassionate, person-centred care.

Jamie began his journey in the care sector at just 18 years old, starting as a care worker and working through a range of roles to build experience and knowledge before achieving his goal of becoming a home manager.

Today, he takes pride in leading a safe, welcoming home where residents are supported to live active, purposeful lives while maintaining their independence.

At Little Haven, Jamie’s door is always open to residents, families and staff - helping to create the supportive and inclusive environment that makes the home feel truly special.

We were delighted to welcome the Carousel Company to Little Haven for a special Musical Memories performance.

Residents thoroughly enjoyed the show, with plenty of familiar songs, wonderful costume changes, and lots of smiles along the way. It was a lovely opportunity to reminisce, sing along and share in the joy of music together.

The afternoon was rounded off perfectly with a cuppa and cake, as everyone chatted about their favourite moments from the performance.

We’ve introduced remote control car sessions at Little Haven – and it’s been great to see residents getting involved! 🚗

It wasn’t easy at first, but with encouragement and support from each other, they soon began steering around the cones with growing confidence. Activities like this help strengthen hand–eye coordination while supporting recovery.

Some are now keen to practise independently in their rooms, which is exactly the kind of progress we want to see. Others chose drawing and colouring in the movie room, so everyone had something meaningful to take part in.

We’re continuing to create more opportunities around the home to promote independence and meaningful activity.

We were delighted to welcome singer Kerry Le Bern, who treated residents to a lovely afternoon of live music.

There was plenty of toe-tapping, singing along, and smiling faces as familiar songs filled the room. Live entertainment always brings such a warm atmosphere, and it was clear how much everyone enjoyed the performance.

Residents spent a relaxing afternoon painting spring flowers this week. The level of focus, creativity, and attention to detail was wonderful to see, with each piece reflecting a unique style.

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a well-earned cup of tea and a slice of cake together - the perfect way to round off a calm and creative session.
