Starting in May 1964, we became part of a network of 124 local Minds in England and Wales which are independent charities. We have our own board of trustees, raise our own funds and tailor our support to the needs of people living in Hampshire.
Open. We reach out to anyone who needs us.
Together. We’re stronger in partnership.
Responsive. We listen, we act.
Independent. We speak out fearlessly.
Unstoppable. We never give up.

By 2020, in the communities in which we work, we want:
Everyone with a mental health issue to trust Solent Mind to be on their side, and be able to support them or to find support for them.
2. Everyone supported by Solent Mind to know how they can achieve good mental wellbeing.
3. People with lived experience to share the power to design, deliver and lead mental health services.
We deliver trusted, practical and recovery-focussed mental health services across Hampshire:
• Our network of Wellbeing Centres gives people the tools for staying well through activities, workshops and 1:1 emotional support
• Our Peer Support service empowers people with their own lived experience of mental health problems to develop and run safe community support groups
• Our Advocacy service ensures that people are able to speak out, express their views and defend their rights
• Our Children and Young Persons services teach students, parents and teachers about positive mental health
• Our employment teams help people to find employment or maintain their wellbeing at work
• Our Remind service offers support to those living with dementia in Portsmouth
• Our italk service offers flexible talking therapies for those living in Hampshire
• Our innovative Solent Recovery College makes people the expert in their own recovery journey through classroom-based lessons
• Our social enterprise project Mayfield Nurseries uses the power of horticultural therapy to help people bloom.
• Our Support, Time and Recovery workers offer practical help and support to those with severe and enduring mental health issues.
Outside of our vital services, we campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health issues. We even share our unique knowledge and expertise of managing mental health through our trusted range of bespoke work place training.
Solent Mind is a charity and much of these projects would not be possible without the people who give their time, money, energy and passion to make sure Solent Mind can be there for everyone who needs us. When you take on a 10k run, organise a cake sale or choose Solent Mind as your charity partner, you’re doing more than just raising vital funds; you’re also joining others to send a message that mental health in Hampshire really matters.
