Hello and a warm welcome to Soulful Holistic Therapies. My name is Caroline Baker MAR. I am a fully qualified Reflexologist & Aromatherapist in Botley, Southampton. I offer Foot, Facial & Maternity Reflexology treatments, Aromatherapy, Massage; as well as Indian Head Massage, and Reiki.

I am incredibly passionate about the use of Holistic Therapies to support our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being.

My absolute honour is to provide a safe space to let go, switch off and escape the everyday stresses that life can bring, allowing the body and mind to relax and find balance. I first became aware and interested in a more natural approach to health when I had my two children. I found myself seeking natural ways to support them through the usual childhood ailments. However, a real turning point for me was when I went through a particularly turbulent patch in my personal life. This led me on a journey of re-discovering who I am and what was true to me. During this time I discovered the benefits of holistic treatments such as Reflexology and Reiki. This had such a positive impact on my mental and emotional well-being. These therapies helped to keep my stress levels under control and my ability to face challenges much more manageable. With a background in Nursing I felt so intrigued with the power of Reflexology & how our feet correspond with certain parts of the body, that in 2019 I enrolled to train as a Reflexologist myself. I have over 12 years of experience working as a registered nurse within the NHS, my last post as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This provided me with an incredible insight in to the conditions that people are living with day to day, and also the detriment that stressful, busy lives are having on us and potentially contributing to dis-ease within the body. Over time, I increasingly felt that there was so much more I could be offering to support the health of the patients I was caring for. In January 2022, I took a life changing step, followed my heart and decided that this is exactly how I wanted to be supporting others; healing through healthy and natural alternatives. This turned out to be one of my best decisions in life. Since then I have trained in other therapies including Aromatherapy. I have used essential oils for many years to support my family's physical & emotional well-being, but learning how to use them safely and effectively has been hugely mind blowing. The therapeutic & healing qualities of essential oils are incredible and I love that nature has provided us with this beautiful gift. I am insured and I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), providing reassurance that I am highly trained and continue to maintain professional excellence by developing skills and knowledge. I absolutely love learning and am always looking for ways to advance my practice. I currently offer the following treatments in Botley, Southampton:

Care With Intention 💚

The time you book is fully hands-on treatment time. I always allow extra space either side to check in and ease out. Nothing is taken from your session.

Before we begin, we take a few moments to talk through how you’ve been feeling, what’s shifted since your last visit, and what your body needs that day.

Afterwards, there’s time to rest, have some water, and come back to the world slowly.

Nothing is rushed.

I don’t work back-to-back, and I intentionally limit how many people I see each day. It means I can be fully present with you, reset the space properly, and look after my own energy so I can give you my best.

I really value every person who walks through my door, and everything they bring with them.

For me, it’s always been more than just the treatment. It’s the care, the connection, and the time we share. 🥰

Bruno appreciation post 🐾💙

If you’ve been for a treatment, you may already recognise this little face. Bruno takes his role here very seriously… mainly supervising arrivals, offering enthusiastic tail wags, and making sure nobody comes in without a proper hello.

He’s currently “in training” to polish up his door manners (he really loves to greet people 😄), and I’m honestly so proud of how far he’s come. It’s taken me a while to feel confident having him here full time. He used to spend time with family while I worked, but with support from a trainer ( ) and learning to understand him better, my confidence has grown so much.

Training him has also taught me a lot. The consistency, patience and showing up every day isn’t always easy, but seeing how much he thrives with that steady input has been such a reminder of how powerful those small, repeated efforts really are. It’s also been a quiet nudge for me about how important that same consistency is when it comes to showing up for myself, too.

He’s very much part of the space now, and I love the way having him around adds a little extra life and warmth here. He’s mostly just cute… even if he sometimes thinks he’s running the show 💙.

He is 8 years old and a lovely mix of working cocker spaniel, chihuahua and Jack Russell. We’ve had him since he was a puppy, and we all absolutely adore him. 🥰

He loves long walks in the woods, is a total water baby, and has a particular fondness for socks.🧦 Greeting you with one proudly in his mouth is his favourit little “gift” to offer 🫣 (if he can find one laying around)! He’s very committed to his routine, extremely skilled at delivering the look when he wants something, and honestly just a bundle of absolute cuteness. We all love him so much. 💙🐾

After sharing how my journey began in my last post.....

This January marks four years on this path, and I’m celebrating with such a grateful heart 💚

The support, trust, and loyalty of the people who choose to work with me means more than words can express. 🥰

One of the things I love most about what I do is getting to truly know people. Over time, relationships build, familiarity grows, and I often find myself supporting people through the unexpected turns and changes life brings. There’s something special about already having that connection and being able to offer steady, familiar support along the way. This is something I never take for granted.

Over time, this path has become deeply focused on women’s wellbeing. I have a particular interest in supporting women during pregnancy, menopause, and with reproductive health and fertility concerns. However, reflexology is so incredibly calming for the nervous system, it’s gentle, supportive treatment can benefit anyone on their journey toward greater wellbeing.

My practice has grown through additional training in facial reflexology, aromatherapy and massage, yet reflexology remains at the heart of what I do. I love adapting each treatment to what’s needed in the moment, sometimes blending therapies when a more tailored approach feels right. 💆🏼‍♀️👣

This way of working feels balanced and sustainable, and it doesn’t really feel like “work” at all. ❤️ It’s something I genuinely enjoy so much.

I now work completely for myself, in a way that feels aligned and steady. It's honestly something I could never have imagined a few years ago. I am so grateful I found the courage to take that step🙏🏼.

I’d love to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey and allowed this small space to grow in such a steady, heartfelt way. I’ve really felt that this January, which has been one of my busiest months, despite usually being a quieter time of year.

I feel incredibly grateful to be doing something that feels so aligned with who I am, and I truly appreciate all the ongoing support.

Here's a little about my journey 💚👣

I'm a former NHS cardiac nurse of 12 years, a mum of two, dog mum to Bruno 🐾, & someone whose life has been shaped by some of the hardest & bravest choices I’ve ever made.

As a deeply sensitive person, caring for others has always been part of who I am. My nursing career taught me how important it is for people to feel safe & cared for, especially in some of their most frightening moments. Motherhood, living with migraine, & having my life turned upside down more than once quietly reshaped how I understand health, wellbeing & the mind–body connection.

Becoming a mum drew me towards more natural & holistic ways to support our health. But during a particularly difficult period in my life, I found reflexology 👣. It became a steady, grounding presence. Something about it stayed with me, & in 2019 I followed my heart and began to train as a reflexologist myself.

In 2022, during a period that asked a great deal of many of us, I found myself reflecting more deeply on how we care for our wellbeing. I began to notice a growing misalignment between my own beliefs about health & the direction things were moving more broadly. I knew then that I had to make the life-changing decision to step away from nursing. It was frightening, particularly as a single mum at the time, but it felt necessary in order to stay in integrity with myself & honour the values that sit at my core & in my heart.

I went from studying towards a Master’s degree as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, to rebuilding from the ground up. Doing admin, reception & cleaning in a beauty salon while slowly building my reflexology practice. It's a chapter I’m deeply grateful for ❤️. It allowed me to support my children as I worked towards a different future. 🥰

Through this journey, I’ve come to see that people often arrive for reflexology during times of change, stress, or uncertainty.

I truly love what I do. My lived experience allows me to meet people with warmth, compassion and sensitivity. It's so important to me to offer a calm, supportive presence where you can feel safe & cared for. 💚

Wishing you all a gentle and happy New Year 🤍

I never really feel the year starts properly in January. With the cold days and dark evenings, it feels more about slowing down, resting, and going inward. For me spring brings a different energy, one of new beginnings that naturally draws us back out into the world. 🌱

That’s exactly how I spent New Year’s Day, in my happy place. Wellies on, out in the countryside, with my man and Bruno, simply observing the stillness of nature 🐾🌿

My personal journey this year has been about learning to feel safer in myself. Of noticing when fear or old patterns are running the show, and slowly learning not to react to everything as a threat. It’s been about tuning into my body instead of battling it, and discovering how much can change when you meet yourself with curiosity instead of fear. ✨ (I'll be sharing more about this as my journey unfolds).

It’s also been a year of choosing honest conversations with the people I love and care for deeply. Being willing to speak up when something doesn’t sit right, even when it feels uncomfortable. Through that, some relationships have naturally come closer, others have needed a little more space, and I’ve learnt to trust that these shifts are a natural part of how we grow 🤍

So as we move into this new year, I’m holding so much gratitude for where I am, and a quiet sense of hope for what’s ahead 🌿

🌿 Have you ever felt overwhelmed or stressed, without really understanding why?

There may be no obvious stressor, nothing particularly “wrong,” yet your body feels tense, reactive, or on edge. That disconnect can be confusing, and it’s more common than many people realise.

Sometimes this happens because the body is still responding as though a stress threat is present, even when it’s no longer there.

🧠 When the nervous system has been exposed to prolonged stress, it can begin to respond based on earlier stress patterns rather than present circumstances. In this state, the stress response is more easily and more frequently activated, leading to persistently elevated cortisol levels. While cortisol is essential for survival, chronic elevation places strain on multiple body systems and contributes to ongoing dysregulation.

💫This is why nervous system regulation is foundational to wellbeing.
When the nervous system becomes more regulated, the stress response becomes more flexible and able to activate when needed and settle appropriately afterwards, allowing the body to restore balance.

👣This is also why reflexology can be such a supportive therapy.
Reflexology encourages deep relaxation and helps guide the nervous system toward regulation, creating the conditions for cortisol levels to settle over time 🌿

If you’re feeling overwhelmed without an obvious cause, you’re not alone.
Sometimes the nervous system simply hasn’t caught up yet. With the right support, it can learn to feel safe again.

🌸 National Fertility Awareness Week 🌸

As we recognise National Fertility Awareness Week, it feels important to pause and acknowledge the many people quietly navigating the challenges of fertility, the stories we often don’t see or hear.

So many people face these struggles quietly. We may not realise what someone is going through. The emotions that come with it not happening, the constant reminders all around, the yearning for something that feels just out of reach.

For some, the path to parenthood comes easily.
For others, it’s a journey filled with longing, endless appointments, financial strain, and an ache in the heart that’s hard to put into words....and that's just scratching the surface.

The hope.
The waiting.
The pressure.

It can take such a toll. 🙏🏼

Through additional training in fertility and reproductive health, I am able to offer more tailored treatments, helping to support natural fertility and work alongside those navigating IVF and assisted conception.

One of the most beautiful aspects of reflexology is the deep sense of relaxation it brings. It invites that precious time to quiet the mind, to rest, and reconnect with yourself amidst all the uncertainty. 🩷

The trust that clients place in me, to share their stories, their fears, their vulnerability and their hopes. It's something I hold with the deepest respect and has been truly eye-opening for me. 🩷🙏🏼

☀️Taking a pause in beautiful Mallorca ☀️

I recently took a short trip to Mallorca. A bit of sunshine, good food, and time to truly switch off.

I did find it super challenging leaving my children for the first time abroad, it went against all my mum instincts. I had such a fear I might not make it back to them 🫣 which isnt my usual way of thinking!!

But once we were there and settled, it turned out to be such a lovely little break to spend some quality time with my wonderful man 💙. Feeling so grateful for the experience and recharged. ✨
