We had a fantastic afternoon with singer Annie-Jo Baker, enjoying music from wartime classics to rock and roll. 🎶

Residents sang along, danced, and even took turns on the microphone, creating a wonderful atmosphere of joy and togetherness.

Loved ones joined in with maracas and tambourines, making it extra special.🎤🪇💃

Music truly brings everyone together here at Oaklands, lifting spirits and creating happy memories. We can’t wait for more! ❤️

Good nutrition and hydration are essential for our residents’ health and wellbeing, especially as appetite and thirst can decrease with age.

Our Lifestyles Team spent time with residents offering fresh fruits and delicious banana & strawberry smoothies 🥤

Residents chose their favourites and enjoyed a lovely, social afternoon 😊
Activities like this support wellbeing, encourage independence, and bring joy to everyday moments 💛

We were delighted to welcome Brenda and Peter from our local Saint James Church to Oaklands for a beautiful Easter service 🌼

Brenda shared the story of Holy Week with her wonderful storytelling, while Peter’s readings added a special touch. Residents joined together in prayers and sang some much-loved hymns, creating a truly uplifting atmosphere.

After the service, Brenda and Peter spent time with each resident, sharing Easter wishes and spreading kindness throughout our home. Some residents also took Holy Communion, making the occasion even more meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to our pastoral team for bringing such warmth and joy to Oaklands this Easter 💛

Our residents got stuck into a lively game of Snap — but let’s just say the “rules” were more of a suggestion than anything else! Cards were flying, laughter filled the room, and a few very competitive streaks definitely made an appearance 👀

Fun was had by all at Oaklands as we celebrated St Patrick’s Day! ☘️🌈

Residents enjoyed a lovely arts and crafts session colouring and painting shamrocks, rainbows and pots of gold 🎨✨. Their fantastic creations will soon brighten up our art display cabinet!

The celebrations continued with word searches, reminiscence and discussions, and a fun quiz 🧩📚, all whilst wearing novelty glasses 🤓.

It was a wonderful day filled with laughter, creativity and plenty of smiles! 😊💚
