During Malnutrition Awareness Week, Oaklands visited the lounges and residents’ rooms with beautifully presented fruit platters, cheese and crackers, refreshing smoothies, and mousses thoughtfully prepared by our talented chef Toulla. 👩‍🍳

We spent a fun and creative afternoon making Grass Head plants! 🪴

Each one was made by filling a stocking with soil and grass seed, shaping it, and adding a quirky face to bring it to life.

After placing them in a shallow container of water, the stocking acts as a wick to keep the soil moist.

Now they’re sitting in a sunny spot, ready to sprout their green “hairstyles.” With a little patience—and regular watering—they’ll soon be ready for their first trim! ✂️🌱

We were delighted to welcome Welsh singer Marcus back to Oaklands for another unforgettable afternoon of music and laughter.

His captivating performance — paired with his warm, witty personality — has made him a firm favourite among residents, guests, and staff.

The room was filled with smiles as everyone sang and danced along to classics from across the decades.

Marcus’s wonderful repertoire, enthusiasm, and stage presence ensure that every visit is truly memorable.
