Another fantastic performance from the ever-charming Marcus Davies had our home buzzing with joy! 🕺💃

From singing and dancing to laughing and clapping, Marcus brought everyone together with his warm personality and incredible talent. His music stirred up beautiful memories and left smiles all around. ❤️

🌊 National Beach Day at Oaklands – A Sensory Seaside Experience! 🏖️

We brought the seaside indoors with a beach-themed afternoon for a truly sensory-filled afternoon! Residents felt the soft sand between their fingers, listened to the calming sounds of waves — all from the comfort of our communal space. 🏝🎶

The taste of classic seaside treats like ice cream cones and candyfloss added to the atmosphere 🍦🍭, while a cheerful Punch & Judy show brought smiles all around.

To end the day, we passed around nostalgic postcards featuring beaches, donkey rides, ice cream vans and more — sparking beautiful memories, laughter, and touching conversations. 💬📬

A truly heartwarming and engaging afternoon filled with laughter, joy, and seaside magic! 💛

An Enjoyable Afternoon of Bingo at Oaklands

Bingo continues to be a favourite pastime here at Oaklands. It’s not just about winning—it’s also a fun way to keep our minds active and engaged. Listening for the numbers and marking them off the sheet gives the brain a bit of a workout, and it keeps everyone focused and involved.

More than that, Bingo brings people together. There’s always laughter, light-hearted competition, and a shared sense of enjoyment that lifts everyone’s spirits. It offers so much connection, entertainment, and plenty of smiles.

Residents look forward to these monthly sessions, and this month was no different. Betty and Irene were among the lucky winners and were happy to choose their prizes.

An Uplifting Church Service

Residents enjoyed a lovely church service led by the pastoral team from St James’s Church — Brenda, Margaret, and Peter.

The afternoon was filled with heartfelt prayers, meaningful readings, and the joy of singing along to well-known hymns.🎶

Everyone joined together in reciting the Lord’s Prayer, and those who wished were able to take communion in one of our communal areas.

It was a truly uplifting and spiritual afternoon, bringing comfort and connection to all who attended 💛

Happy National Dog Day! 🐶💛

We were thrilled to welcome our beautiful therapy dog Maisie and her handler Caroline for a special visit today! Maisie made her rounds, bringing smiles, cuddles, and a few tail wags (plus a treat or two! 😉).

Her presence is always so uplifting — it’s amazing how much joy one sweet pup can bring. The love she shares with our residents is truly heart-warming. 💕

Residents and their loved ones were warmly welcomed to a special afternoon tea in our charming Vintage Café.

Tables were beautifully set with our finest tea sets, offering a selection of hot beverages and a glass of bubbly to mark the occasion.

The afternoon was filled with music, laughter, and heartfelt conversations — a lovely opportunity to spend quality time together in a relaxed and elegant setting.

Our talented chef curated stunning cake stands, brimming with both sweet and savoury delights, making the afternoon extra special, adding a special touch to the occasion.

It was a truly memorable event, creating cherished memories over tea and treats. Guests were presented with a thank you gift box of goodies, a lovely time was had by all.
