Specialist Condition Led Care
One of the many services we are proud to offer is specialist condition led care. This is more specialised care for individuals diagnosed with conditions that impact on their day to day living, we provide care tailored and centred around the individual to help them and their loved ones to live as independently as possible. We support a wide variety of conditions including; bone and muscle conditions, brain and nervous system conditions, respiratory/ lung conditions, heart and blood vessel conditions, digestive system conditions, kidney and urinary conditions, blood and immune conditions, psychological and emotional conditions and many others.
We provide specialist carers who are trained in specific conditions and management. Carers are able to provide practical support including monitoring blood pressure or oxygen saturation etc, but they are also able to monitor and manage symptoms and changes. We also liaise closely with wider care professionals such as GPs and physiotherapists to ensure that care is personalised and tailored to suit the individuals health and social care needs and changes are communicated appropriately.
As well as providing practical support, staff are also able to provide emotional and psychological support for both clients and their loved ones.

What is a LUCAS device and when would we use it? The LUCAS is an automatic chest compression device used during cardiac arrest. It delivers consistent, high-quality CPR when every second counts. We carry this vital piece of equipment on both our aircraft and emergency response vehicles.

Last year, 15% of our emergencies were cardiac arrests β€” one of the most common incidents we attended. Thanks to your support, we're able to bring equipment like the LUCAS straight to our patients when they need it most. πŸ’š

International Nurses Day!
A big appreciation to all nurses who deliver amazing care and support every day πŸ’š

We have had the honour of working alongside many nursing teams from hospitals, practice nurses, community speciality nurses, district nurses and end-of-life and palliative care nurses. All of which provide outstanding expert care to all patients and support not only patients and their families but also care teams.

We are also thankful to be able to assist student nurses on their journey to becoming qualified by offering training and support in providing community health and social care, including our two student nurses Jenny and Sophie who are both in their final year of nursing! We welcome student nurses and other healthcare students to join our team and we are flexible in supporting education, including support from fellow students that have been through the process!

Dying matters week πŸ’š

Talking about death and dying is a difficult but important conversation to have.
It can be hard to discuss with loved ones but it is very important to identify wishes surrounding the time leading up to and after dying as there are many different beliefs, views, attitudes and practices around the dying process.
Discussing wishes helps to relieve some uncertainty and stress when family and friends know their loved one’s wishes and helps relieve some anxieties once this conversation has been discussed.
As GoodOaks Southampton, we aim to help facilitate these conversations. Staff can offer support and guidance to help preferences and wishes be identified.

Dying Matters aims to focus on different communities and cultures within the UK to feel, talk about, and deal with death and dying - and what brings them together. πŸ’š

πŸ’š making use of shade
