Hampshire Healthy Families Hampshire Healthy Families 0-19 service covers all aspects of Health Visiting and School Nursing, supporting families across Hampshire.

Hampshire Healthy Families is a partnership between Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Health Visiting and School Nursing Service and Barnardo’s to deliver the Healthy Child Programme across Hampshire. Whether you're a new parent/carer, a parent of older children or a young person, we are here for you. From free workshops, courses and social walking groups to awareness, health advice and mental health support. A partnership between Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and Barnardo's.

We have two vacancies for a Community Health Development Worker within Hampshire Healthy Families⬇

As a Community Health Development Worker, you will:
➡ Improve child health and development by helping parents to provide a secure, nurturing and stimulating environment for their children.
➡ Deliver workshops and courses for families with children under 5.
➡ Support early years setting to implement the Hampshire Healthy Heroes workshops
➡ Support local communities to develop initiatives and resources that support the healthy development of young children and their families
➡ Promote healthy lifestyle choices through a community network of partners, champions, and volunteers
➡ Promote public health messages at community events and roadshows
➡ Work in partnership with public health colleagues to ensure best outcomes for children and their families

The World Health Organisation recommends a minimum of 180 minutes of movement per day for 1 to 5-year-olds. This includes:

🫟Messy play
👣Walking
🚴‍♂️Riding a bike
⚽️Ball games

For under 1's, 30 minutes of tummy time across the day is recommended.
