Role details:
President:
(* can only be applied for if you have been a previous vice-president of this committee)
β> Lead & represent the society in Medsoc and nationally
β> Lead organisation in all areas making sure everything runs smoothly
β> Sort committee meetings & plan objectives for the year
β> Introduce or consider new ideas & plans for the society
Vice-President (skills):
(* can only be applied for if you have been a previous member of this committee)
β> Organise & assist in the various skills events the society puts on (surgical skills events, suturing series etc.)
β> Communicate with consultants & trainees to assist in events
β> Keep inventory of the societies surgical equipment e.g. suture kits
Vice-President (events):

β> Organise & assist in the events put on by the society
β> Communicate with consultants & trainees to assist in events
β> Help plan and co-ordinate the Southern Surgical Conference
Treasurer:
β> Run, monitor, and safeguard the societies finances and bank account
β> Engage with and find sponsors for events and talks
β> Manage and assist in funding of events and equipment
Secretary:
β> Key administrator for the society
β> Work closely with the president in communicating outside of the University
β> Create and monitor feedback forms and certificates for events
β> Monitor the society email and respond as needed
Academic Rep:
β> Organise and assist in academic events (quizzes, anatomy competition etc.)
β> Monitor other organisations (Medsoc, ASiT etc.) for events that we can participate in
β> Support other committee members with events
Social Media Rep:
β> Run the societyβs social media accounts
β> Monitor social media messages and liaise with the president / VPs as needed
β> Create posters and certificates if needed
Pre-clinical Rep:
(* only open to students up to year 2)
β> Disseminate information to pre-clinical year groups
β> Assist the society in the running of events
β> Liaise with pre-clinical years to gauge interests and unmet needs
