Totton Hearing Centre would like to thank all those who came to see us yesterday to celebrate our 8th Birthday! We had the lovely Libby and Felix visit us who got plenty of attention from the passing public!

Well done to the lucky winners of our raffle which raised lots of money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, we will be in touch with you soon to claim your prizes.

Its our Birthday 🎈

On Thursday 3rd July we are celebrating our 8th birthday. To mark the occasion we are holding an open day.
If you or anyone you know would be interested to walk in, we will carry out an ear health check, free of charge and answer any questions about hearing, hearing aid technology or ear protection.

💥We are offering £100 off our Advance Elite, Super and Premium hearing aid range.

We are also raising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and have hearing dog Libby and Felix visiting us with their recipients at 11am and 2pm.

Celebrating 7 years of Specsavers Hearing Centre Totton!

Can you believe that it has been 7 years since we opened our doors?!
As we celebrate our 7th Birthday and mark another year in the heart of the Totton community, we would like to thank you for trusting us with the ear health of both yourself and your loved ones. It’s our pleasure to meet every one of you, listen to your stories and hear how we are helping you to live happier lives. We aim to provide a professional, welcoming, and friendly service and you all make that easier to achieve. Its is important to note we would not be able to do any of this without our brilliant staff.

We look forward to welcoming you sometime soon to our newly refurbished shop, which we hope you will find more comfortable and relaxing environment for your hearing needs.

Deaf Awareness Week 2024

Hearing loss is an increasingly common issue, affecting millions of people in the UK alone. An estimated 12 million people, or around one in six people, in the UK are either deaf or have some degree of hearing loss.

Many factors contribute to hearing loss, including natural aging, exposure to loud noises, illnesses, injuries, and genetics. No matter the cause or severity, hearing loss takes a major toll on a person’s quality of life. It not only impacts the individuals affected, but their families, friends, and broader communities as well. From hearing protection products, assistive listening devices (ALD’s), to increased access to hearing aids, many solutions exist to tackle this issue.

With compassion and commitment, we can create a society that is inclusive and accessible for all people, regardless of their level of hearing ability.

Here at Specsavers Hearing Centre we are a team consisting of 11 women, and thankfully we all get along very well 😅

We strive to provide the best care possible to the Totton Community and patients who attend clinics across our other 5 locations.

Without the dedication of our administration staff who are always trying their best to answer queries, book appointments and deal with walk in members of the public and patients we wouldn't be able to help as many of you. These ladies deserve some recognition for the great service they continue to provide on a daily basis in a polite manner, always with a smile on their faces.

Importance of treating earwax

Everyone has earwax. The presence of wax is important for ear health as it traps bacteria and dirt that enters the ears. But too much earwax can lead to a range of complications, including:

• Hearing loss
• Itchy ears
• Discomfort or earache
• Tinnitus
• Infections

Patients with earwax issues can often be treated with a course of olive oil ear drops. However, for patients who have compounded wax and reoccurring wax build up, often it cannot be treated effectively without further intervention. Specsavers audiologists are clinically trained to provide an earwax removal service for these patients.
