As Easter approaches we have been delighted to attend the Friends of Fareham Community Hospital memory cafe at the British Legion where we sang together and met the wonderful Easter bunny!

We’ve also been busy crafting decorations for the home, getting ready for Easter Sunday!

What an incredible day celebrating a truly remarkable milestone – Ray’s 101st birthday! 🎉

We were honoured to welcome some very special guests from the Royal Air Force, who joined us to celebrate Ray’s life, service, and the amazing century of memories he carries with him. Seeing the smiles, sharing stories, and marking such a special occasion together made it a day none of us will forget.

A huge thank you as well to our wonderful volunteers, David and Valerie, who provided the perfect soundtrack to such a special celebration – your music truly made the day even more magical. 🎶

Ray, you are an inspiration to us all – here’s to 101 amazing years and counting! 💙✈️

We’ve been absolutely delighted to welcome the wonderful sixth form students from Itchen College’s Health & Social Care course to Ancasta Grove 💚

Their time with us has already made such a positive impact on our residents, bringing fresh energy, smiles, and meaningful connection into the home. It’s equally fantastic for the students, giving them a real insight into how care homes operate within the community and helping shape their journey towards future careers in healthcare.

This morning’s task was a lovely example of teamwork in action – watering the flowers at the front of the home 🌼 Working together, the girls filled and carried the watering can as a team, showing great cooperation and care.

Well done, girls – we’re so proud to have you with us! 👏

☀️ After getting our flower beds looking lovely for the first day of spring, we couldn’t resist doing what everyone else has been doing… heading straight out into the garden to enjoy the sunshine! 😄
There’s something so special about these first warm days — sitting together, feeling the sun on your face, and watching the garden come to life around us. All that hard work (and chatting!) was definitely worth it 🌼

🌸 The first day of spring has officially sprung at Ancasta Grove… and so have we (a little slower than the daffodils, but full of enthusiasm 😄).
Armed with gloves, trowels, and plenty of good humour, we’ve been out front giving our flower beds a well-deserved refresh. There may have been more chatting than digging… but that’s what makes it special!

Nothing beats a splash of colour at the entrance to welcome everyone in — here’s to brighter days, blooming gardens, and smiles all round 🌼

What a wonderful way to welcome the warmer days! ☀️🎶

Today marked our very first open-air concert of the year, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. With the sunshine pouring in, doors wide open, and music filling the air, our residents were able to sit back, relax, and enjoy a beautiful live performance together.

There’s something truly special about live music in the fresh air — it lifts spirits, brings smiles, and creates those magical shared moments we all treasure. A perfect afternoon, and hopefully the first of many this year!

Christine’s independence means everything to her — and it’s something we are so proud to support every single day.

With her electric wheelchair, Christine is able to move freely around the home, making her own choices and creating her own routine. Whether she’s popping in to see friends, choosing where to spend her time, or simply enjoying the freedom to go where she pleases, it’s all on her terms.

It’s not just about mobility — it’s about confidence, dignity, and living life with choice and control. And Christine does just that, with a smile.
