A little trip into Southampton City Centre to visit the art gallery.

Who knew they were getting a new roof put on?

Never mind we still managed to take in a small exhibiton, get some coffee and meet up with Paddington Bear.

Shopping is better with friends and the experience is often more valuable than the purchases themselves.

Fortunately, we managed to catch some sunshine as we hit the shops for a few essentials but sadly we were not allowed on the train!

Will have to speak to management about that!

Louis Amstrong once said....

"Music is life itself,"

It pretty much sums up our Saturday afternoon perfectly.

Music has the ability to transport you beyond everyday life, to connect with others, and express the ineffable.

"Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life" Berthold Auerbach.

"Music doesn't lie" Jimi Hendrix

Itì is therapeutic and truthful. Music offers a spiritual escape and a deeper emotional connection.

Many happy returns to two members of the Navy's greatest generation. 👏🎉

Kathleen Saxby and Maurice Robinson served in the Wrens and Fleet Air Arm respectively in the final year of WW2.

Each received a visit from serving personnel and a letter from the First Sea Lord to mark the milestone birthday.

Listening to music is joyous because it intensifies emotional responses through a combination of factors: a shared social experience that fosters connection and belonging, the physical and sensory immersion of the concert environment, and a heightened neurological response that stimulates more brain areas than recorded music. This powerful combination stimulates the brain's emotional centers, leading to dopamine release, a stronger sense of shared feeling, and overall increased happiness and well-being.

It looks like autumn is well and truly on its way but we managed to catch a break in the weather for the walking group to get out and about.

Perfect timing before the heavens opened.

Continuing to play the piano and engaging with music is so important for Stella's wellbeing and she loves to entertain.

It offers a lot of social benefits, not just for her, but for those around her.

Music provides connections in so many ways, and is an outlet for self-expression, whilstengaging the brain to strengthen neural pathways.

Well done Stella.
Keep playing!
