We are really excited to have moved one step closer to the opening of the new rehabilitation building at the Western Community Hospital in Southampton.

Head of Inpatient Nursing and Therapies, Maggie Stoppard, and Estates Senior Project Manager, Mark Maffey, speak to us about the project as they preview the new wards.

We are now around a month away until the new West Wing of Western Community Hospital is officially open, marking the launch of the South of England Rehabilitation Centre, with all of our rehab services co-located to provide integrated care to people in and around Southampton.

This project began with initial plans back in 2019 and construction started in November 2022; it's been a long road and we are now tantalisingly close to opening the doors of two new state-of-the-art rehabilitation wards, with modern equipment and facilities that patients and staff will benefit from.

Be prepared for the upcoming flu season 📆

A leading Hampshire GP is urging parents and carers to take up the offer for their 2- and 3-year-olds to get a free nasal spray flu vaccine at their GP practice to help protect them against the illness.

From this month, parents or carers of children aged 2 and 3 should get an invitation from their GP practice offering them to book in the vaccination for their child, which is given as a nasal spray rather than an injection in the arm.
