I am always advocating self care in forms of slowing down, doing things that make us feel relaxed, calm and happy, finding new things that gets us out of unhelpful stress responses, learning how acknowledge those small things that cam make difficult times bearable.
There are stresses in my life and I do lean into my strategies and tools to support this. I do things regularly, like treatment swaps and yoga but the biggest thing has been my mindset shift that if is not selfish to look after myself too.
I am incredibly lucky to have found something as a job that I honestly can say I love it all. It really does fill my cup to be able to work with energy, massage and of course... Those beautiful babies!
However, I hurt my shoulder carrying home 8kg of relaxing bath salts that I won in a competition and it reminded me that my job is physical and I am 51 and I must start upping my game if I am going to last.
Serendipitously, some kind friends gifted me guest passes to David Lloyd and the swim and steam room massively helped . So I bought a 14 day pass. I limited my clients to 2 a day and I used the clever egym , went swimming in the outdoor pool every day, went to tai chi classes, sound baths and meditation. A lot of time I have gone alone, but there has been one particular friend who I have gone with and we have perfected our chat , dip, steam room and whirlpool bath routine.🩷
Even though I was still working I felt like I was on holiday and I am so grateful
Glastonbury was beautiful, such luck with the weather.
