Being a therapist for over a decade taught me many things and develop various skills but the greatest one I have learned is Therapeutic alliance.

When somebody book a 90-minute Deep tissue massage with Cupping Therapy, my first thought is oh, this person is in great pain probably...but not necessary.

First of all, as a therapist I have to listen to client’s needs and preferences.

Good communication skill is required.

Everyone has some drama, suppressed emotions, deadline tasks and sometimes intuitively search for qualified therapists who listen carefully and understand.

The client often just needs to switch off from daily noise and mad rhythm of life, before booking a session with me.

And then through the body sensations, words, pain, release, pleasure and all the chemical reactions in the brain factory during the treatment, all the Serotonin, Dopamine, Endorphin, and Oxytocin, the client finally connect body and mind in one.

This is the greatest achievement I am aiming.

Let’s talk today about usage of Guasha in massage.

Guasha massage is an ancient Chinese practice for body and face massage, which comes from traditional Chinese medicine. The name translates as “scraping away all the bad”: from “gua” - scraping, and “sha” - bad. Scraping during the massage is done with a special plate, which is called guasha - hence the name of the technique itself. Plates of various shapes are used, made of stones (jade, rose quartz, aventurine) or from the horns of Chinese animals. The effect of guasha is similar to acupuncture - it affects the reflex points of the face and body, along the meridians, but without penetrating the skin (as is the case with acupuncture). Thanks to the powerful impulse from the impact of the tool, all metabolic processes in the skin and body are improved, regenerative processes begin, and an excellent lymphatic drainage effect is achieved.
I found over years of practice using guasha tool on legs for very effective for Lymphatic Drainage .
