Bond & Bloom with us this February 🤍

Bond & bloom is a flower arranging activities that we do once a month.

Flower arranging is such a therapeutic activity that often times reduces anxiety, boosts mood, stimulates senses (scent/color), and improves fine motor skills.

Seeing & smelling fresh flowers has a calming effect that triggers your inner creativity which often provides a sense of accomplishment, and aids in reminiscence.

Thank you Gale & Glen for sharing this experience with us & bringing so much love & laughter on a rainy afternoon ✨

We are always open for fresh activity ideas, we look forward for you to join us next time.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿✨Burns Night is a time to enjoy Scottish traditions and celebrate the renowned poet Robert Burns with a classic combination of haggis, neeps, tatties and sometimes a warming dram.

The night is often accompanied by entertaining recitals of some of Robert Burns’ famous work.

Here’s our way of remembering Scotland’s renowned poet Robert Burns at St Anne’s ✨

✨Did you know that simple Ball Toss & Catch create mental stimulation for people with dementia.

Ball games are not just effective for enhancing cognitive function but also improving motor skills, and encouraging social interaction often reducing agitation.

Even a simple, gentle tossing or rolling of a soft, lightweight ball may also helped in improving hand-eye coordination.

If you see us getting bored and sleepy, grab a ball or a balloon and see our residents faces light up.

What turned to be a simple ball games became a fun filled musical morning too, anything is possible if you’re having fun ✨

✨Did you know that as simple and easy as pizza making can make a difference.

Studies shows that Pizza making, baking and cooking enhanced Cognitive and Motor Skill.

It is because this activity involves sequence of steps (planning, measuring, mixing, adding toppings, baking), which engages executive function and problem-solving skills.

Physical actions like rolling dough, chopping ingredients, and stirring sauce help maintain and improve fine motor skills and dexterity. 👏

Never underestimate the power of engagement & simple activities.

✨As we age, it's natural to experience a decline in physical and cognitive abilities. However, creativity can be a powerful tool to enhance mental and emotional well-being. In particular, arts and crafts can be especially beneficial for elderly people and those with dementia.

Creating art and crafts require concentration, problem-solving, and memory recall, all of which can help boost cognitive function. For people with dementia, it can also improve communication and reduce feelings of isolation.

If you see us concentrating we’re probably busy with our decoupage crafts.

Afternoons arts craft this week was decoupage crafts with some shells Ive picked up at Bournemouth beach 🐚
