Don't put up with painful feet..seek help from professionals who can help resolve the problem long term ...this patient had been told by her GP practice that having seen a clinician there, that this problem was just hard skin and not infected and the fact her foot kept swelling on the dorsal aspect, was not related. She was advised to see a Podiatrist for help, but the wait through the NHS would be months...as such she sought our care...
Post treatment debridement, showed small low grade wound with some exudate and a small sinus tracking, that was causing the inflamed dorsal region at the base of digits 2&3..flushed with clinisept, sterile dressing applied to also offload etc. Woundcare advice given for home care regime whilst wound healing and a future plan to review 4 weekly for further management and resolution..
