Ticket are still available for our VE Day gig in Botley Market Hall 3pm - 5pm this Sunday 11th May! Are you coming??

It’s going to a fun and nostalgic afternoon as we take you on a musical journey from the 1930s through to 1950s covering all the famous wartime hits from The Andrews Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Dame Vera Lynn and more.

We’ve been working hard on the 3 part harmonies and dance moves!! There will be optional joining in with a 40s style social dance and sing-a-long!

All tickets include a piece of cake and cup of tea/coffee.

The Koshas - Come join me at my regular flow classes this half term to learn about the 5 Koshas or layers of being. We start next week by exploring Annamaya Kosha the physical body.

What is your sankalpa?
A sankalpa is our intention for our practice, but it’s much more than that. It’s a rule we follow above all others, a vow we make to achieve something over a long period of time.

It’s a heartfelt desire, a deeply meaningful and overriding purpose for our lives.

This may not be something you’ve ever considered and feel unsure of how to even connect with.
So how can we find out what ours is?

It starts with inner listening, quieting the mind through meditation and allowing the truth of our hearts to be revealed. This can take time but should arise naturally and feel honest.

It’s not always easy to decide what our deepest purpose is or our hearts deepest desire, it can take time and lots of patience to find out.

From now until Christmas we will be focusing on developing and working with our individual sankalpa, having intentions for our hour on the mat, our day and our wider lives.

Join me each week to connect with yourself, and see how yoga can reveal your truth and help you live your true purpose in this life.

What a way to spend a day! Thank you to the wonderful group of ladies who joined me today for my Autumn day retreat. We focused on the importance of self care and how to integrate it into our lives. We meditated, breathed, moved, learned self-massage and guided relaxations So special to share this day with you.
I have to pinch myself often that I get to do this for a job!

Mixing up little bottles of loveliness for my retreat guests on Sunday! Homemade skin nourishing facial oil. Heaven!

We will be learning a self massage for the face and neck to release tension, Improve lymphatic drainage and nourish the skin. Face oil is great for the winter months and you can build this loving ritual into your day with just 5-10 minutes.

Sunday is all about self-care and this is the season to up-level looking after ourselves. Lowering stress means better immune resilience.

There are still a couple of spaces if you want to learn this and other simple self-care practices for autumn.

🌺 Why a women’s retreat?
Women have such power, such ability to create, to instigate change and an infinite innate wisdom. However our modern world does not celebrate and support us. We learn to ignore the signals and messages of our body, we judge ourselves by the masculine standards of doing and achieving, we constantly compare ourselves unfavourably to others. It leaves us burnt out, drained and out of touch with our true nature. We need a unique approach to reconnecting with our true nature, there’s a lot of unlearning to do!

🌺 What will we be doing?
We will begin with a flow to connect us to the fluid creative female energy (yoni shakti) Honouring our womb space, moving freely and creatively and allowing release of deeply held tension
We will take a long yoga nidra (guided yoga sleep) to allow us to deeply relax and rest.
We will drink hebal tea and eat nourishing snacks together.
We will gather together in circle, fully guided and supported to consider our challenges and needs and how we might manifest changes in our lives to help us tap into our power and balance our needs with the needs of others. You can choose how you participate, offer wisdom, sharing your thoughts of listening in a safe space.

🌺 What will I take away from the afternoon?
A real sense of community, a deep sense of relaxation, a sense that you have refilled your cup, ideas for how you can look after yourself better, some resources such as journal prompts and meditation scripts.

Monday was a hard day. I was super tired after a busy weekend and a few rubbish nights in the run up to my period where I seem to be waking often and getting night sweats really bad. I planned my class on Sunday night, not ideal as I was tired, pre-menstrual and not in the zone at all. Monday morning was the usual slightly manic getting everyone ready for school/work and then I got to my venue to find we were double booked and we all had to get in our cars and drive to a different hall 🙈
After the class I felt a bit low because it was my oversight that meant I messed up the hall bookings and I wasn’t sure that it had been a very ‘good’ class. Then I got this message from one of my students.
It made me feel so grateful that I get to share this amazing work and really helped me see that even if I don’t feel that great about a class, that’s not everyone’s experience.
I LOVE teaching yoga, I don’t do it for the money (lol) I do it because it has the power to change lives. Knowing I’ve inspired one person and made a difference to their day makes me so happy. 🥰
The class was about transitions and how they can be super unsettling, but if we approach them with kindness and playfulness we can befriend the process. This is what I’m going through right now. A transition back into teaching after having a baby, a transition to a family of 4, a transition to perimenopause (I think)
The whole of life is one long transition and we can choose to fight it and try to stay the same or embrace it and discover new joy and insight.
I choose the later.
