As we move into February, the first quiet signs of life begin to return.
Beneath frozen ground, the land stirs. Snowdrops and crocuses push through the cold earth, reminding us that something has been happening all along, even when it felt like nothing would change. The light returns slowly, almost imperceptibly at first, and with it, a gentle rise in energy.
Imbolc arrives at the moment when winter feels endless, just as hope begins to waver. It marks the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, a threshold season where nothing is fully formed yet, but everything is possible.
This is not spring in full bloom. It is the first stirring of it. A promise of renewal, rebirth, and new life, still fragile, still finding its way.
Imbolc lives in the tension between seasons. A soft but persistent struggle between winter and spring, between holding on and letting go. In folklore, this is the turning of power between the Cailleach and Brigid, the old ways loosening their grip as new light slowly claims the land.
What is awakening within you, even now?
