Part-Time Bookkeeper
📍 Hythe | 3 Days Per Week
We are a small, family-run and growing care company based in Hythe, providing high-quality Domiciliary Care, Supported Living, and Children’s Services. Our work is rooted in compassion, professionalism, and doing the right thing for the people we support.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and trustworthy Part-Time Bookkeeper to become a key part of our team. In a small organisation like ours, this role is important — you will work closely with the directors and play a vital role in keeping our financial systems accurate, compliant and well managed.
This position would suit someone who understands the care sector, is highly organised, discreet, and takes pride in maintaining strong financial foundations within a values-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing all day-to-day bookkeeping functions
• Raising and managing client invoices
• Processing supplier invoices and payments
• Managing payroll and payroll administration
• Processing staff expenses
• Bank reconciliations
• Monitoring cash flow and budgets
• Assisting with preparation of management accounts
• Liaising with our external accountants
• Ensuring financial compliance in line with care sector regulations
Essential Requirements:
• Proven bookkeeping experience within the care sector (essential)
• Experience with invoicing and payroll within care services
• Understanding of local authority funding and private client billing
• Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Xero, Sage or similar)
• Excellent attention to detail and integrity
• Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality
• Reliable, proactive and solutions-focused

Salary:
£28,000 – £35,000 per annum (full-time equivalent), pro rata for 3 days per week, depending on experience.
