Day 18 of 1 extra press up per day.

Aiming to beat 32 in a row.

Felt easy tonight despite a fun couple of salsa lessons! Just realised I'll have to do 22 press ups the same day I do half a marathon! 😅😅

Day 16 of 1 extra press up per day.

Long day in clinic but still keeping consistent and challenging myself.

Wrists can handle the normal position, so fists it is!

Day 15 of 1 extra press up per day.

Aiming to beat 32 in a row.

Adjusting technique:

My wrist hurts. So rather than ignore it in pursuit of my goals, I will adjust to allow myself to pursue my goals minimising further injury or pain.

I have this discussion a lot with my patients.

Often people don't want to stop the thing that brings them purpose and enjoyment: running, gym, walking and even working!

Instead of stopping, we adjust.

Work within your 'painfree(er) window' and being mindful of how the pain or injury changes.

Sometimes we do have to stop because of excessive pain and/or injury, and that would be the right thing to do. But there may be plenty of wiggle room before that...

Getting into a rhythm with this now. Before I forgot, I thought I'd quickly get the 10 out before my Tuesday night west coast swing class.

Day 9 of 1 extra press up per day.

Aiming to beat 32 in a row.

So my press up challenged didn't cross my mind all weekend. I was far too in the moment with everything I did over the weekend:

• A 15km run supported by my partner on her bike!
• Attending Southampton Pride with friends.
• Attending a friend's Rueda BBQ and eating too much chocolate.
• Enjoying laying in the sun and losing myself in the rustling of trees.

So the take away is: don't punish yourself for missing work out/training days. Rest days, self-care days, days to just live and have fun are totally fine in my book.

There is always the today to continue where you left off and progress towards your goals. Why rush?

Happy Bank Holiday!

Day 8 of 1 extra press up per day.

Aiming to beat 32 in a row!

What's the point?

Trying to demonstrate how small but consistent changes to your lifestyle can have a positive accumulative impact on whatever metric you decide to measure.

Here, I've decided to work on my upper body strength by measuring BW press ups.

We'll see if it does or doesn't make any changes!

Day 7 of 1 extra press up per day.

Aiming to beat 32 in a row.

Starting to build up now, starting to feel the accumulation of effort building in my shoulders and arms. Still feeling good though!

Can I keep it up?
