As one of one of England's largest acute teaching trusts, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust can help you to achieve your career aspirations, whatever your discipline.
We're one of only a few trusts in the UK that have the ability to care for people before their birth through to the end of life, providing almost every specialism they could need along the way, 24/7. We employ more than 10,000 staff delivering services to over 1.9 million people within our specialist care groups, childrenโs hospital, and major trauma centre.
Because UHS is essentially a micro city, we can offer almost every job imaginable. Some require a medical background, such as nurses, allied health professionals (AHPs) and healthcare scientists, but there are also plumbers, electricians, porters, secretaries and catering experts, as well as finance, communications, HR and informatics specialists.
Every year our staff:
treat around 150,000 inpatients and day patients, including about
50,000 emergency admissions
see over 585,000 people at outpatient appointments
deal with around 120,000 cases in our emergency department
Weโve recently been rated โGoodโ overall, following a recent inspection by the CQC, and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey we were in the top 10 acute trusts for staff engagement and for staff recommending the hospital as a place to work or receive care.
Whatever role you're interested in, we can offer fantastic training and development giving you the best possible opportunities to achieve the career you want.
