Hamble Heights care home in Fareham, Southampton, was purpose-built in 2013 with modern facilities and a homely warmth. Hamble Heights has a delightful community of 60 residences. Our first class care extends from wonderful staff and fantastic facilities, with an ensuite bathroom in every room; to the very smallest of details, such as movement-triggered lights in the bathroom, touch lamps next to every bed, and a choice of nutritional meals every day – making life as comfortable and homely for residents as we can.

Making garlands 🪢with fabric strips it was not just a craft activity, it was a tool to boost concentration🧐 and focus, to practice hand control🤏 and fine motor skills. Ladies have worked side by side having conversations to make new friends. Joan with her sense of humor🙃, decided to place the garland like a crown 👑on her head 👸!

So much determination to get a high score💯. It was loud📣📢💥, fun 🤩 , competitive and full of laughter 😆

No coconuts 🌴🥥 were harmed during play 😂

Southampton Sports ⚽️ 🎾🥅 came and put us through are paces this morning. It was great fun 🤩 lively and many residents joined in. 😂

Nothing quite as relaxing 😌 as a trip to the Hamble Heights Spa 🧖 . Followed by some butterfly 🦋 colouring. What a perfect way to unwind and relax. 🧘‍♀️

Book 📕 club is still going strong 💪 . We are half way through ‘A perfect Murder’. Murder at the theatre 🎭 royal is our second book 📕 instalment. A good 👍 book 📕 in our Library 📚setting one ☝️of the best ways to spend a rainy ☔️ afternoon.

The residents had a fantastic🤩 time playing Umbrella🌂☂️ Balls Toss🏐! It was the perfect way to embrace a rainy day🌧☔️ and turn into an adventure😃

Newspaper 🗞️ 📰 club combined with our gents club, a perfect match.

Our gents read 👁️all about it this afternoon 👀. A selection of the main newspapers 📰 was a welcome 🤗 past time 🕰️ and provoked conversation🗣️. What a lovely 😻 way to spend the afternoon, getting down with a newspaper 🗞️ and a drink. 🥃🍷 🫖☕️🥤Very relaxing 😎

One of our residents did get more!!

A new teddy bear 🧸 for Jean who named her Mary. The smile 😃 on Jean’s face says it all. Mary is now sat in Jean’s bed 🛌 looking 👀 at home. 🏠

When you get laughter 😂 and a smile 😊 like we had today means so much to know you have made someone feel happy.

Today, we discovered a simple and effective way to make DIY musical instruments. 🪕🎹🥁🎻We made a banjo🪕 with only 3️⃣materials: one metal jar lid🏺, a lollypop stick 🍭and one elastic rubber band. It was a fun 🤩way to encourage fine motor skills, and social interaction, to recall memories and joyful expression.
