3 College Place, London Rd, Southampton, SO152FB Though our offices and chapels of rest are situated in Peartree Avenue Bitterne and London Road we are proud to have conducted funerals in all areas of Southampton including Sholing, Woolston and Netley Abbey and will continue to provide our personal and professional service to all areas where we are needed. After working within the funeral profession for 14 years Jonathan Terry founded Jonathan Terry Independent Funeral Directors and our company conducted its first funeral on 3rd February 1999. However, Jonathan’s involvement within the funeral business dates back to 1985. Since 1999 the company has gained a reputation for personal and excellent service. We continue to reinvest within the business to provide the best for the families we serve. In 2008 we were proud to open, our London Road office in Southampton. This was due to the growing number of families from this side of Southampton who wished to use our services including those in Bassett, Highfield, Shirley, Millbrook, Lordshill and Lordswood. In 2013 we embarked on a redesign and refurbishment of our Peartree Avenue premises this was completed in 2014. In December 2018 we were able to purchase 103 Peartree Avenue, after a lengthy planning application process, Southampton City Council approved our new bereavement centre called the White Lily Centre, the centre offers free bereavement services to all and contact can be made via 023 8044 0961 or info@thewhitelilycentre.co.uk. The Centre was officially opened on Wednesday 4th May 2022

In May 2022 we took delivery of our new fleet of Mercedes hearse and limousines

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Mr. Leslie, known and loved by many as the florist in Woolston for the past 27 years. Leslie was more than just a familiar face in the community—he was a dear friend to all of us here at Jonathan Terry's. He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and never forgotten.

His funeral service will take place on Wednesday 27th August 2025 at Wessex Vale Crematorium at 11.00am. All are welcome to attend. Dedication of our Chapel of Rest - We were proud to mark a meaningful milestone with the dedication of our new chapel of Rest at 10 College Place Southampton, held within the 25th anniversary year of Jonathan Terry Independent Funeral Directors

The event was an opportunity to reflect on both the completion of the chapel and the growth and service of Jonathan Terry over the past quarter-century. We were pleased to welcome so many friends, colleagues, and members of the community who joined us to mark the occasion.

We extend our sincere thanks to Canon Norman Boakes, Fr Russ Bullock, Emma Reed, representatives from the Southampton Sikh community, The Lord Mayor of Southampton and Toni Nunn from singers for funerals for taking part in the service and everyone who attended and supported us. Your presence and continued encouragement mean a great deal.

As we look ahead, the new chapel will serve as a space for quiet reflection and remembrance.

Dedication Ceremony of New Chapel of Rest at 10 College Place

We are pleased to announce the official dedication of our Chapel of Rest at 10 College Place, taking place on Tuesday, 1st July at 12.00 noon.

We are honoured to welcome the Lord Mayor of Southampton, alongside local members of the clergy and representatives from the Southampton Sikh community, who will join us in marking this significant occasion. Their presence reflects the unity and diversity of our community, and the shared importance of providing a respectful, peaceful space for families in their time of loss.

The Chapel of Rest is a place for quiet reflection, allowing families to spend time with their loved ones in dignity and peace. We believe this dedicated space is an essential part of the grieving process, offering comfort and a sense of closeness during a difficult time.

Following the ceremony, we warmly invite all who wish to visit the premises and view the Chapel to join us. This is an opportunity to learn more about the space, meet our team, and ask any questions in a supportive environment.
