🔻Initial assessment: what to expect 🔻
Your initial assessment will begin with a consultation to gain background information on your present/previous injuries or issues, and your general health.
Moving through the assessment, I will seek to gain a good understanding of the source of your pain and will start by providing a full examination.
🔻It is a good idea to bring any relevant documentation with you as you will likely be asked a few questions on your medical history and general health at the start of a consultation🔻
Observation will allow the identification of; posture issues, asymmetrical muscle bulk/atrophy, as well as swelling and/or bruising.
Following observation, you will be taken through a range of passive, active, and resisted movements to assess the mobility and strength in and around the area causing your symptoms.
Palpation of this area will aid in diagnosing the structures damaged.
A session plan will be made based on the information gathered from the initial assessment.
A follow up treatment plan will then be outlined and proposed to you regarding the suggested number of sessions needed etc. This will be discussed as every individual will respond differently to treatment.
Take home exercises will be discussed and demonstrated and a follow up email will summarise the session and the exercises given.
