⭐️Congratulations to our most recent stars of the month!🤩⭐️

Emma- consistently demonstrates exceptional calm and sound judgement under pressure, always escalates concerns appropriately for her patients. She is helpful and supportive, promptly responding to bleeps and assisting whenever needed. A dedicated and flexible nurse in charge, Emma willingly takes on extra tasks and adapts to last minute changes with ease. She manages busy stressful shifts with remarkable leadership and commitment, making her a truly deserving star of the month 💫

Kari- doing a fantastic job taking charge for the first time demonstrating strong leadership and confidence. She is always supportive and delivers exceptional patient care, consistently going above and beyond. Kari is a pleasure to work with, maintaining clear handovers and bringing a friendly smiley presence to shift. Congratulations to Kari on winning star of the month, her dedication and positive attitude truly deserve this recognition 🌟

⭐️ Amber ⭐️ - as a newer member of the team we’ve all loved watching your confidence flourish! from moving to a different ward area for the first time to always supporting your team during busy shifts and deteriorating patients. The way you’re always willing to take on board feedback to grow your skills is impressive and we’re all proud. 🌟

⭐️ Daisy ⭐️- you are always so kind, supportive and ready to jump in when another member of the team needs help, whether that’s overnight, with morning meds or leading the team through crazy busy shifts! Your amazing patient care and calm confident leadership really make a difference. Not only are you a fantastic nurse but you are always a great listener and team mate, making tough days a little easier (staff and patients alike). The whole team are so grateful for the care and enthusiasm you bring every day, we’re constantly inspired by you 💫

Massive congratulations to our most recent stars of the month 🤩
These ladies recieved some very well deserved feedback about the amazing care they provide to their patients on PHDU 🤍

This familiar little friend and his lovely family were inpatients on the unit when we were trying to decide what to fundraise for, their feedback (as well as all the other fab families we had with us) means we can make other patients journey’s just that little bit easier 🩷

We raised enough to purchase a reclining chair alongside VCreate 🥰
This will allow pur parents/carers to be more comfortable at the bedside and try to get some well deserved rest ❤️

🌟Kate is always encouraging team building to boost team morale, an amazing advocate for all her patients, an outstanding role model, has returned to her band 6 role with such ease and positivity whilst also bringing lots of knowledge and skills from her secondment with the outreach team 🌟

🗣️Staff shout out time!! 🗣️

As a team we feel it’s important to recognise each other’s hard work, so every month we put staff names into a box with nominations for star or the month and what they’ve done well! We always have runners up for star of the month, whose names and comments we share on our staff shout out board on the ward.

🌟Abbie - always being nice, helpful, supportive and kind, being an amazing advocate for her patients needs, dedication and superior work that has been widely recognised within the team

🌟Aline- being an excellent role model and great nurse in charge, always supportive, hardworking and adaptable, always happy to help, faces all situations in a calm and professional manner with a smile, inspiring dedication and professionalism

🌟Georgia- always being supportive to the team, running well organised nice shifts and always happy to help everyone, do everything with a smile and make everyone feel welcome and listened to, excellent role model and dedication to your job is well recognised, always flexible with work pattern to ensure safe staffing, helping to facilitate increased acuity on PHDU

🌟Claire- always professional and smiley, excellent role model, an exceptional nurse in charge, always amazingly supportive, hardworking and motivational, remains calm and able to nurture team even on the most challenging of shifts, inspires team to provide high quality care

Thanks for all your fantastic support during our bikathon and cake sale we now have V create!!

Apologies for the delay in updates, I think we’ve all been feeling the burn after Friday😅
Now that we’ve recovered a bit, we are very excited to announce that the team absolutely SMASHED our target of 500 miles and achieved a whopping 939 miles!!!!‼️💪🏼💪🏼🚴‍♀️🚴
I think it’s safe to say we all surprised ourselves with what we were capable of however it was such an incredible team effort that consisted of PHDU+PICU nurses, outreach team, consultants, dieticians, physiotherapists, ward hosts, audiologists, bleep holders, charity staff and lots of friends and family of all!
As a team we are absolutely blown away with everyone’s generosity in donating, we are so so grateful and cannot extend our grattitude enough to everyone who donated, shared our link, bought a cake or came to cheer us on- we can’t wait to show what a difference this equipment will make to our unit. A final thank you to everyone who took part in anyway shape or form, we completed this as a team and everyone deserves as much recognition as each other in celebrating this amazing achievement 💗
