Eek! Almost time. We close for our refurbishment. From Friday 20th March. We aim to reopen on Thursday 9th April. Emergency eye health number : 0300 3034922
Also, NHS 111 or Southampton Eye Casualty are good options.

We are working remotely. All our clients have had a temporary mobile number sent to them.

Our Story

Hello everyone! Walbank Opticians is a completely independent and family owned opticians in the Waterside area. We are the only Opticians in the Waterside area that is not owned or in partnership with a national company. This makes us fully and completely part of your community. You can rest assured, that your investment into us stays in the community. We are extremely proud of this.

Twinkle Patel, the Optometrist has about 20 years’ experience in the industry. She has two goals; 1. Your full clinical needs are met and 2. You choose your perfect pair of glasses. The team will thrive to achieve the above.

YOUR CLINICAL NEEDS

We are proud to be the first Optician in the area to deliver the OCT scan (since 2008). This hospital grade equipment examines the deeper layers of the eye, helping to pick up eye disease up to 4 years earlier than a standard eye test. Twinkle is also the first one in the area to be accredited as a Minor Eye Conditions Optometrist. She has undergone extra training and exams in order to successfully diagnose and manage conditions such as red eyes, sore eyes, dry eyes, sudden loss of vision, floaters and flashes of light. She is also accredited for glaucoma and post-operative cataract assessments.

YOUR PERFECT GLASSES

The team at Walbank Opticians firmly believe that spectacles must represent the individual. Style and personality play a big part. So, we endeavour to help you pick your perfect pair of glasses with styling tips from our experienced dispensing manager. We always say ‘If your glasses do not look good, how can they fit correctly? If they do not fit correctly, how can they be comfortable? And if they are not comfortable, how will you achieve optimum vision?’

It all starts with choosing the correct style for YOU. We have many different styles available; minimalistic, bold, chic or something more extravagant! And we search the globe regularly to bring you unique frames.

We have several payment plans available. A plan for contact lenses, a plan for eyecare, a plan for glasses. Please enquire in store.

COMMUNITY PROMISE

Finally, we are extremely grateful to our clients for choosing us as their Optician. We will dedicate ourselves to the community and help with local charitable causes wherever possible. We look forward to serving the Waterside and surrounding areas for years to come.
