Our client Tanya battled from a rare, acute, rapidly progressive, autoimmune inflammatory condition, which affects the brain and the spinal cord, called Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM).

During her time with our service, Tanya has worked hard in her rehabilitation with our therapy team. After an extensive inpatient stay has finally made it home to be with her cherished family, and despite a lengthy journey she has successfully regained her life back.

Our client Christopher suffered a stroke in January 2025 and our community therapists facilitated his discharge home from hospital with comprehensive occupational and physio therapy including rehabilitation assistant support.

Does anyone else agree that in these photos Chris is looking particularly chuffed with his achievement during his occupational therapy session.

Our client Deborah suffered an out of hospital cardiac arrest resulting in a hypoxic brain injury in January 2024, which also resulted in needing extensive surgery for the many other injuries sustained during the arrest.

Peartree Community Service was able to in-reach into Peartree House inpatient unit to commence qualified therapy and rehabilitation assistant support.

We are so happy to announce that Deborah is finally back home where she belongs with her beloved husband Phillip by her side.

Here at Peartree, our community teams' holistic approach to therapy extends to clients transitioning into new and suitable environments with the assistance of our therapists throughout the process.

This is Georgia, one of our Peartree Community Clients who has recently moved into a new property. She was supported by our occupational therapist and physiotherapist to assess a number of properties, considering the appropriateness and necessary adjustments required for a smooth and safe transition, from one home to another. As part of the process, careful thought went into home layout, safety and accessibility as well as continued therapeutic involvement alongside Georgia's current goals. With this approach, Georgia was successfully set up in a new environment suitable to her needs from the offset.

Georgia is now settled in her new environment and looking forward to making new memories in this new home.
