“Mindset Moments with Coach Collins”

Let’s talk about the term “food sin.”
I honestly dislike this phrase immensely – and here’s why.

Labeling something as a “sin” creates guilt and shame around eating. Food is not good or bad. It’s fuel, enjoyment, culture, comfort, and connection. When we attach guilt to what we eat, we damage our relationship with food and end up in that toxic cycle of restriction, overeating, and feeling like we’ve failed.

Instead of talking about “sins,” let’s talk about balance, choice, and nourishment. You are not “naughty” for enjoying a slice of cake, just as you’re not a saint for eating a salad.

Your mindset matters. Food doesn’t need to come with a side of guilt.

☀️ SHINE WALK UPDATE ☀️

Another brilliant day of walking in Whiteley - 4km done in 24°C heat with 53% humidity. Safe to say, we earned that iced Matcha and cold water at Nero’s! 💦🍵

We looped through the trails, past the lakes, and even clocked up a cheeky extra 0.42km on a bonus stroll later on. Every step adds up, and every step matters.

Philippa and I are walking with purpose and training for the Southampton Shine Night Walk in October. Philippa is a breast cancer survivor, and this journey means more than just miles.

☀️Summertime = BBQ time ☀️

Keep yours Plan-friendly with these yummy halloumi kebabs (below recipe serves 2) 👇⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✅ Step 3 and above ⁣⁣
✅ 400 calories ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🛍 You'll need: ⁣⁣
250g cherry tomatoes⁣⁣
1 red onion, thinly sliced⁣⁣
2 tsp fennel seeds⁣⁣
A few sprigs of thyme, rosemary or oregano⁣⁣
4 strips of lemon zest (pith removed)⁣⁣
1 red pepper, deseeded and cut into chunks⁣⁣
1 yellow pepper, cut into chunks⁣⁣
100g button mushrooms⁣⁣
1 courgette, thickly sliced⁣⁣
125g halloumi light cheese, cubed⁣⁣
1 tbsp green pesto sauce⁣⁣
Low cal spray oil⁣⁣
Black pepper⁣⁣
2 x 45g wholemeal pitta breads⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🥣 Method:⁣⁣

1) Preheat the barbecue. Put the cherry tomatoes and red onion in a foil grill pan and scatter with the fennel seeds, herb sprigs and lemon zest strips. Spray lightly with oil and grind over black pepper. Cook over hot coals on the barbecue for 20–25 minutes until the tomatoes are slightly charred and about to burst and the onions are tender.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2) Meanwhile, thread the peppers, mushrooms, courgette and halloumi on to metal or wooden kebab skewers (see note below). Brush the halloumi and vegetables with the pesto sauce and spray lightly with oil.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3) Cook on the hot barbecue for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and the halloumi is golden brown.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
4) Warm the pitta breads and serve with the kebabs and roasted tomato and onion salad.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Tip: If you use wooden skewers for the kebabs, be sure to soak them in cold water first so they don’t char or catch fire on the barbecue.⁣⁣

Tucked in the drawer.
You’ve tried them just in case more times than you’d care to admit.

Maybe even with a bit of wiggle room.
It’s not just about the jeans, it’s about how you feel in them.
Proud. Determined.

Looking after yourself is selfcare, and it’s so much more than bubble baths and face masks.

True selfcare is about keeping yourself well in every way - physically, mentally, emotionally and for some, spiritually too.

It could be taking time out each day for peace and quiet. It might mean getting outside for a walk, having a good laugh with a friend, or saying no to things that drain your energy.

It also means protecting your peace by stepping back from people who bring negativity or don’t support the life you’re trying to create. That’s selfcare too.

Whatever it looks like for you, I hope you do a little (or a lot) of it this evening.

👭 6 fabulous f2f clients (all smashing it!).....mini break to order stock..
👭 Followed by… another 6 f2f clients (yes, 12 total!)
🏆 One hit an incredible 16kg loss today! 👏
💻 2 lovely video calls – one in London, one in Liverpool
🎉 2 brand new starters – both starting their journeys today
☕️ Quick lunch break and a much needed coffee
📦 Huge delivery arrived – unpacking boxes between chats!
👩‍💻 Evening appointments: a mix of in person and virtual
🆕 Another new starter joining by video tonight

💖 Feeling grateful, happy, and buzzing from all the wins today.

When you’re out for the day with the kids (we’ve both got sons!), it’s so easy to end up picking at crisps, sandwiches and ice creams. But being prepared makes all the difference and saves you money 💰

Here’s what we love to pack for snacky days out that keep us on plan and in control:

✅ Chicken skewers or mini fillets
✅ Boiled eggs
✅ Babybel Light
✅ Cucumber sticks & mini peppers
✅ Individual pots of plain 0% Greek yogurt
✅ Turkey slices or lean ham
✅ 1:1 Diet Pop Squares
✅ 1:1 Diet bar or shake (easy to grab!)
✅ Mini tin of tuna in spring water
✅ Cold veggie egg frittata slices or mini egg muffins
✅ Sugar-free jelly pots
✅ Celery sticks with a bit of low fat cream cheese
✅ A few olives or cheese cubes (within allowance)
✅ Water with 1:1 Diet flavouring or sparkling water

🧃We always bring a cool bag and a big bottle of water too – staying hydrated is key!
