Walk & Talk Therapy: Why stepping outside can change the conversation.
Not everyone feels comfortable sitting in a therapy room.
For some people, movement helps thoughts flow more naturally. For others, being outdoors reduces the intensity of direct eye contact or the “spotlight” feeling that can come with traditional sessions.
Walk & Talk Therapy can:
• Reduce feelings of pressure or formality
• Support nervous system regulation through gentle movement
• Make difficult conversations feel more manageable
• Encourage creativity, reflection, and perspective-shifting
• Feel more natural for clients who struggle to “sit and talk”
Research continues to highlight the benefits of combining physical movement with psychological processing, particularly for stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.
If you’re curious about whether Walk & Talk Therapy might suit you, I’m always happy to discuss options.
