This week, we visited France!

We virtually toured France, whilst reminiscing about our travels there. We had our Bupa Passports stamped & we're ready to visit our next country next week!

Today was our Summer Fete!

Despite the good old British weather, it went ahead as planned, we just held it inside!

We had lots of fun stalls, so thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday to join us, we really appreciated it!

Kim-Roberta was fantastic as always; we just love having her sing for us!

We would also like to thank The Mayor of Eastleigh & her friend for joining us this afternoon; we loved hosting you!

Team Maypole love having a sing-song, so this afternoon, was a jam packed musical afternoon!

With singing and dancing, we had music from different decades, some even as early as the 1940's!

It was an enjoyable afternoon and it was nice to see our residents smile.

Sleep is as important for our health as our diets and exercise, yet we often cut it short.

Follow these 5 tips to get the most out of it:
1. Whilst the length of sleep is important (aim for 7-9 hrs a night) but quality of sleep is important too. Improve sleep quality by removing distractions from your bedroom, avoiding caffeine late in the day.
2. Sleep consistency is important - going to bed and waking up at the same time each day (even on weekends or kids’ holidays) can improve how restorative your sleep is. Keep lie-ins less than 1 hour.
3. Stop snoozing! Each time you fall back to sleep, you initiate a new sleep cycle which takes 90 mins to complete, so breaking it by another alarm 10 mins later is added stress on your body
4. Keep your bedroom cool - your body needs to drop its temperature to initiate and maintain sleep
5. Screen time before bed has similar effects to drinking coffee on the brain. Avoid screens and blue light in the hour before sleep.

Another Lovely Boat Trip on the QE2 this Morning!

Today we went up and downstream on the River Hamble with our residents.

Skipper David, from the QE2 Activity Centre let them take the wheel of the boat and told us some fascinating local stories. We even had time to stop at the floating Cafe.
It was a great morning to be out on the water. We will all sleep well tonight!
