Your brain on diabetes👇👇👇

Diabetes, that is high blood sugar can damage brain cells over time by accelerating aging process in the brain, leading to memory loss and cognitive decline as it shrinks brain volume.

Diabetes increases stroke risk, even dementia.
It causes chronic inflammation, insulin resistance, in the brain and vascular damage that impairs oxygen and glucose delivery to brain cells.

Diabetes can manifest as neuropsychiatric changes… causing emotional changes, higher rates of depression, anxiety and a feeling of being overwhelmed which is sometimes called “diabetes distress “.

So, protect your mind…control your sugar.
