Hi yogis, just a reminder that there is a test of the national alert system at 3pm this afternoon.

If your phone is on it will sound a loud alarm and vibrate for approx 10 seconds. If you are with your baby, whether feeding or napping or snuggling then I strongly recommend you turn your phone off ahead of this - even if on silent it will alarm.

I'm going to turn mine off as I get ready for a session in the studio with a lovely yogi...

You did so well holding out for the birth you wanted, and I'm delighted you got it!

Enjoy your baby moon and I'll look forward to meeting Ruby and seeing you back on the mat for mummy and baby yoga when you are ready :-)

A wonderful review from a lovely hypnobirthing couple who I really enjoyed teaching! I recorded Alice's personalised track on Tuesday and she's already loving it :-)

"Ani is a fantastic pregnancy yoga instructor and hypnobirthing teacher. I’ve been attending her weekly yoga classes since March, and they’ve become the highlight of my week. Ani takes time to get to know each of us and tailors every session to our needs with so much care and attention.

My husband and I also recently completed her 2-day 1:1 hypnobirthing course, which was absolutely brilliant. It’s helped us feel far more prepared, positive and excited about the journey ahead. My husband especially appreciated how Ani took the time to help him understand how to best support me during labour. The relaxation and hypnosis elements were incredibly calming, and we’re excited to keep practicing as we approach our baby’s arrival.

During the sessions, we developed a birth map together to help my husband understand how he can support me through each stage of labour, as well as practicing the practical elements of it. We also talked through ideas for our birth plan, which helped us feel much more confident. We really appreciated how Ani shared the research and evidence behind hypnobirthing and the techniques we were learning. We came away with a solid understanding of the practical things we can do to make labour and birth a positive, empowering experience.

Throughout both yoga and hypnobirthing, Ani has created a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space. I would highly recommend her to anyone considering pregnancy yoga or hypnobirthing. Thank you so much, Ani! I can’t wait to attend her mum and baby yoga class in the future as well."

Thank you Alice, you've really captured what I try to achieve in my teaching... I can't wait to hear your positive birth story!

Namaste yogis,

Look who arrived the morning after yoga last week!!! Congratulations Kelly (Botley group), I had a feeling he wouldn't keep you waiting much longer...

Welcome to the world Dylan, how gorgeous are you?!? Born at home as planned after a quick (but we always knew it would be!) labour overnight. Sounds perfect, I can't wait for the full story. It's been a joy to support you with baby and birth number two, and I can't wait to meet Dylan in person when you are ready for some lovely postnatal yoga. Meanwhile we can all admire your beautiful boy :-)

I've really enjoyed this training, and am already having fun dropping some new biomechanics based tips into classes and the birth preparation refresher session I taught this morning :-)

I'm going to set up a biomechanics for birth workshop in the summer, would a Friday or a Saturday work best for people?

Also what should I call my new pelvis when she arrives?!?

This is beautiful! Second time mums are often worried about how their first child will cope if they are present during a home birth, and it's something that often comes up in hypnobirthing / birth preparation courses. All the stories I've heard where a first born has been there (whether planned or unplanned!) have been positive, for everyone involved!

Messages like this make my heart sing :-)

"Thank you so much for the most amazing day on Saturday! I can't quite put into words what a difference you have made for us but feeling quietly empowered and a new inner trust for ourselves (and each other) is definitely the outcome!"

Lynn, I loved helping you create this feeling together, and I know you're going to have a wonderful birth!

Pregnant yogis if you want to feel this great heading into your birth then I have 1 space available between now and mid June for birth preparation / hypnobirthing, then I'm booked up until mid July.

I love it every year when this pops up in my facebook memories! This is me and my own mini yogi heading out to a breastfeeding group at just 3 weeks old (14 years ago). I remember finding leaving the house with a new baby so daunting in the beginning, but the breastfeeding group was a really welcoming space.

I really focus on creating that feeling in groups that I run now. Mummy and baby yoga classes are a safe space where you can come as you are, share the challenges and joys you are experiencing in a non-judgemental space, and I promise you will make friends! You also enjoy some lovely post-natal yoga to help you recover from birth (however your birth was) and baby yoga to support babies development and (crucially!) sleep - lots of the mini yogis have lovely long naps after class!

Plus I'll make you a cup of herbal tea and bake you a homemade treat. All served up with love :-)

Still spaces this half-term if you'd like to join us (and if your arms need a rest I will very happily cuddle your baby too - mine is now a bit too big to do this with!)

Namaste yogis, I hope to see you on the mat soon
