This time 15 years ago, I was labouring to birth my mini yogi... We'd been going since midnight, I'd seen the night and then the sunrise, and all of the day, and then the sunset, and we still had more night to go, lit by this beautiful full super moon (the one in the photo) which I watched rise, and then birthed under...

Labour and birth were transformative for me, they are for all of us. It's why I do the work I do now, why I am so passionate about supporting you to get an empowered birth, through all I do...

But for tonight, and until Monday, I'm signing off to celebrate my Luna-moon turning 15 (at precisely 1.37am tomorrow!)

This time tomorrow I'll be at Hamble Village Memorial Hall starting the next block of mummy and baby yoga. Can't wait to meet some new babies, cuddle some returning ones and give mummies a lovely hour out of busy lives just to stretch, breathe and connect (and enjoy some yummy tea and cake!). Still a couple of spaces left if you'd like to join our lovely little group :-)

Had a lovely couple of sessions in the studio this weekend that were completely different to each other...

On Friday I taught a dear yogi and her daughter for a birthday treat and some gentle time together during a challenging transition. I've not taught the little girl since she was a baby, but she (sometimes literally!) threw herself into the session and amazed me with her focus and flexibility! She didn't want to leave at the end, I know the feeling - the yoga studio is such a gorgeous warm space to snuggle up in for savassanah!

Then yesterday I taught two wonderful yogis who come for a session and a catch up together every half term break. Over the years we've got to know each other well and there are always honest conversations as well as laughter in the studio, yesterday we threw in some partner yoga for fun too :-)

Next up in the studio with be a new hypnobirthing couple next weekend. Really looking forward to starting that journey with them...

I love love love my work and the variety of it - really plays to my skills and keeps me thinking on my feet!

"We had such a wonderful experience on the two day hypnobirthing course with Ani. Completing this course was hands down, the best decision we have made in the lead up to the birth of our baby - we left the course feeling calm, positive and armed with a wealth of knowledge to have a positive birth experience that we are in control of.

It is clear that Ani is an absolute oracle when it comes to all things birth and labour, and we were able to have a wonderfully balanced view of the science behind all of the elements, hormonal and otherwise that play a part in labour, which really helped with our understanding of it all.

The course was in a wonderfully welcoming and relaxed environment and we felt truly safe and listened to as we discussed our hopes, and fears ahead of the upcoming birth of our first little one.

As a couple, we came away from this course feeling that we are about to embark on an exciting journey together. We have a birth plan and a birth map, and even if things do not go as planned, I feel that we have learnt the skills to help us feel calm and connected, whatever happens on the day.

I only take one couple at a time so that you get my dedicated attention, and I often get booked up months in advance, so it's worth getting dates in early.

I'm currently available from mid - late March, but could fit in a course in February if dates worked as my next couple don't start until the 28th. Your course would ideally start at around 32-34 weeks pregnant so that you get your personalised hypnosis recording ready to practice, and we can work on your birth plan ahead of your 36 week midwife appointment. But as always, I'll be as flexible as I can be to accommodate and support you!

Really looking forward to getting back to teaching pregnancy yoga this evening at Hamble Village Memorial Hall. Bring blankets for savassana and wrap up warm yogis!

Just a note that both pregnancy yoga classes are now full with waiting lists. If you are hoping to join later on then do message me to reserve your space on the waiting list as it's unlikely that I'll have any short notice spaces for the next 6 weeks at least...

Aww, welcome to the world to this gorgeous boy who arrived on the 29th and was (I think) the last yoga baby of the year!

Congratulations to Ami (Botley group) on the safe arrival of Finley, it sounds like you did amazingly well, and he's super cute - look at all that hair!!! I can't wait to meet him at mum and baby yoga, and I hope you are enjoying your baby moon :-)

I am back to work and really looking forward to getting back in the yoga shed this afternoon with some lovely yogis, and then teaching hypnobirthing with a new couple tomorrow :-)

A quick update on availability:

Group classes start back next week, I have some space in mum and baby if you'd like to join a lovely small and friendly group to support you and your baby (Friday mornings at Hamble Village Memorial Hall), I have one space left in pregnancy yoga at Hamble (Tuesday evenings), but pregnancy at Botley (Wednesday evenings) now has a waiting list (let me know if you want on!). I'm taking hypnobirthing bookings from mid-March. One-to-one sessions are available at times to suit - I currently have a rare evening space on Mondays...

Gosh, what year 2025 has been! Despite a difficult personal year including tearing my meniscus (a tricksy little half moon shaped bit of knee cartilage) in the spring and not being able to get down to my mat (well, I could probably get down, but not back up again!), I have had a humbling and wonderful year of teaching yoga, albeit mostly from a chair....

My booking system says that I've welcomed 77 new yogis to class (that doesn't include returning yogis, of whom I am very grateful to have had many of too - it lights up my day when I see your names pop up in my inbox with new pregnancies!).

My records list 46 new babies welcomed into the world, 8 of them with the benefit of hypnobirthing :-) And I have had lovely cuddles with some of them at mum and baby yoga, which is always the highlight of my week!

I have seen many bumps, and babies, and friendships grow. It's my absolute honour to share these precious times with you all, I feel so lucky to do the work that I do, and I am grateful for every one of you for joining me on the mat :-)

I hope to practice with you in 2026. Meanwhile Happy New Year Yogis!

Lovely end to the year for mummy and baby yoga yesterday with these gorgeous Christmas puddings! We've had some fabulous sessions this half term, babies settled beautifully and really enjoyed seeing their friends so we've enjoyed lots of mummy yoga, and of course the babies have had their yummy yoga too! Namaste yogis, it's been such a pleasure! See you in the new year :-)

Lovely news from Mia (Botley group). Congratulations Mia on the arrival of the very gorgeous Isla Mae :-) This is the kind of message that makes my heart sing, and sums up exactly what I try to achieve - a sense of support and community and lifelong friendship...

This time tomorrow I'll be setting up for the new block of mummy and baby yoga at Hamble Village Memorial Hall, making tea and getting cake ready for you when you arrive :-) I have a lovely session planned with post-natal yoga for you, gorgeous baby yoga for your little one designed to help them relax (post-yoga naps are the best!) and lots of support and friendship to be found.
