Norlington nursing home is a family owned business which is pleasantly situated close to the cliff to It promotes premier care for senior citizens.

Norlington nursing home is a family owned business, which has been successfully run by Mrs June Tempany and her son Gary since 1986. We have lovely private landscaped gardens for residents to enjoy, where we have our summer fete and barbecue. We offer a warm and friendly home where each client is supported on an individual basis. Respecting their rights to informed choices, privacy and dignity at all times. We also encourage family input and support. Norlington is pleasantly situated close to the cliff top at the seaside location of Southbourne. We are close to the popular beaches of Bournemouth (which has a lift down to the beaches and promenade for disabled and elderly), near the town of Christchurch and its many historical landmarks.

Fill our Bench! We are delighted to keep welcoming and helping new residents and their families. Pick up a brochure or two or three and pass them on. Our thanks to our team for their hard work in the garden for their green fingers and painting skills. This week we are looking forward to an Afternoon tea, sitting out front people and doggy watching, and creating our own Ice Cream Sundaes! Enjoy the sun everyone ###

Today we enjoyed a few songs Karaoke style in our front lounge and boy do we have some good Tom Jones in our midst! We were joined by Mr Bumble a huge bumble bee who was so stunned by our singing that we had to revive him with sugar water before putting him outside where he flew away fully recovered!! We think he strayed in from our wildflower "beebomb" flower bed, we love our bees.

COME ON ENGLAND!!! We are match-ready for kick off England v Germany this afternoon, the TV in the lounge is warming up lol, the chairs have been positioned, seats chosen, and drinks are chilling in the fridge! Have fun everyone, enjoy being together and hope for a big win :) :)

We are so excited to be re-opening our Coffee & Cake Bar tomorrow with a Residents Coffee Morning! One of many activities we can now plan for the summer season. Already this week we have had some brilliant entries for our Monday Movie quiz, and suggestions coming in for our Friday Film afternoon, as well as sprucing ourselves up with a visit from Jackie our Hairdresser on Thursday and Beauty and Nails by our lovely carers Maureen and Pam. All we need now is some sunshine to be able to get out into our beautiful gardens :)

Springing forward - with the clock's changing this weekend into summertime, and with the garden work stepping up a gear, we are feeling ready and excited for this new season. We have already started to welcome in new visitors, and are delighted that one of the family visitors has been volunteering in our courtyard garden and making a magnificent job of it too! New plant containers grace our frontage and we are reaping the benefits of last year's planting. Residents are entering an Easter quiz competition this week and enjoying Easter activities. Bring on the chocolate :)

Good news for our book worms - our mobile library service is starting back up tomorrow and there is a mountain of books and audio-books waiting to be handed back, all of which have been read at least twice!! We are so looking forward to our fresh delivery of reading fodder, and to getting back into the swing of regular visits from our librarian friends :)

White rabbits! The first day of March and (according to the weather man) the first day of spring! It certainly felt like spring at the weekend, what a wonderful lift for all of us. We are delighted too that we have finished our spring cleaning early and are open for new residents :) please do spread the word and get in touch with us if we can help, we are waiting for you with caring hearts and open arms (and plenty of PPE!). Soon we will be able to re-open our Visitor Pod and welcome visits once again. In the famous words of Captain Tom...tomorrow will be a good day x

And the birthdays (and cakes) keep on coming! Today we celebrate the 90th birthday of one of our lovely residents, Enid. She had a lovely pile of cards and presents to open and an amazing cake for us all to enjoy, don't mind if we do!! Happy birthday Enid have a wonderful 90th birthday ###x

We do LOVE a birthday at Norlington, and this week we have not one but two!! Many happy returns to our lovely Brenda and Anne, and a big thank you to our chefs Muoy and Gabi for the gorgeous birthday cakes!!! Yummy there goes my Fasting February :)

Time flies, and a new season is almost upon us. We are all so encouraged and pleased to see signs of spring popping up around the gardens at Norlington. Signs of better days to come and putting the long winter behind us. Enjoy!

And we're off.... we've cracked open the Quality Street and started our Christmas Singing. The presents for residents are around the tree, and the Christmas jumpers are on show! Looking forward to carol singing later today, Christmas blessings everyone xx
