Following her passing, Helena Woolley of Thundersley, left an incredible gift in her will that has transformed cancer care in Essex. Her £430,000 bequest has funded Southend’s first dedicated cancer research suite, giving local patients access to cutting-edge trials close to home. The Helena Woolley Research Suite will benefit thousands for years to come—an enduring tribute to her generosity and belief in the power of research to save lives.

Here is one of our lovely volunteers receiving a very generous donation of £500 on behalf of the centre, from the Treasurer of the North Thames Ladies Auxiliary, Pat 🤩

The fundraising event was held by the wonderful Proprietors of The Castle Pub along Eastern Esplanade, Jan and her daughter Jolene.

Jan does a huge amount of work for the community and has a very big heart ❤️ and all of us here at the Macmillan Information and Support Centre would like to say a huge THANK YOU to you all 🌟
