💝✨🎄
A big thank you to Sam Palmby and all those who donated to her Symmetry And Movement Christmas raffle which raised £1,050.
Yesterday our chairman Keith Passingham helped Sam pick out the lucky winners.
We have a couple of defibrillator grant applications in the pipeline and these funds will go a long way towards their purchase.
Many thanks 🙏🎄

Pilates has become very popular over the years. It is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. The exercises can be layered according to fitness levels. They are slow, controlled and flowing, working all muscle groups leaving the body conditioned and balanced, and primarily strengthening the core muscles that stabilise the spine.
A healthy spine exhibits four natural curves. They increase the spines strength, help to maintain balance in an upright position, help protect the vertebral column from fracture and absorb shock from walking. Distortion of the natural curvature of the spine will create different posture types often caused by weak muscles, weak ligaments, genetics, injury and simply poor posture and so on.
Pilates helps to realign the body and helps correct postural problems, bringing mind and body together to create a body awareness.
Specific sports practised frequently create muscle imbalances, so what better way to include Pilates into your training regime and keep your whole body balanced and conditioned. Pilates prevents injury and will improve your sport performance. A huge number of elite atheletes and teams have incorporated Pilates into their exercise regimes.
Pilates is also a gentle excercise for those who need rehabilitation, helping you to develop a strong core and correct posture.
So if you are looking to improve your posture, ease back pain, strengthen your core and get rid of muscle imbalances or better your sport performance, Pilates is for you.
"If your spine is inflexible and stiff at 30, you are old. If it is completely flexible at 60, you are young." - Joseph Pilates.
