🥂 A Fond Farewell
​While we celebrated the new season, we also shared a heartfelt goodbye to Ernesto. After 6 years of wonderful service, he is heading off to start a brand-new career. We are so grateful for everything he’s done and wish him the very best of luck on your next adventure

BBQ Season is Officially Here! ☀️
​What a way to kick things off! We had a brilliant time celebrating the start of the sunshine with a party atmosphere that couldn't be beaten. The wonderful Brian Shaw joined us to get everyone moving with some classic 70s hits, and the energy was incredible!
​It was so lovely to see so many families joining in the fun—remember, you are always welcome to celebrate with us. Make sure to keep a close eye on our upcoming dates so you don't miss out on the next big event!

The Power of a Playback: Community Singalong Success!
​There really is nothing like the magic of music to lift the spirits and fill a room with energy! We had an absolute blast during our recent singalong session, and the atmosphere was nothing short of electric.
​🎤 Finding Our Voice
​A huge thank you to Rob, who joined us to lead the session with incredible passion. He had everyone on their feet (or at least tapping their toes!) as he guided us through a setlist that spanned decades and genres.
​From the grand storytelling of classic Broadway musicals to the upbeat disco fever of ABBA and the soul-stirring rock ‘n’ roll of Elvis, there was a melody for everyone.

The Birth of the War Dog School
In Shoeburyness, known for its gunnery ranges, Britain’s first War Dog School was founded in 1917 by Edwin Hautenville Richardson. Dogs—many strays or family pets—were trained on the Essex marshes to endure artillery fire and serve on the Western Front. They worked as sentries, scouts, and messengers, carrying vital information when other communication failed. Airedale Terriers were especially valued for their bravery. Shoebury’s harsh conditions made it an ideal training ground. Today, this legacy lives on, and our residents recently visited the Cart and Wagon Shed Garrison to explore this history

​Betty’s love for nature shines through in everything she does. She’s always on "bird bath duty," making sure it’s topped up for her feathered friends—though she can’t help but laugh when the local seagulls hop in and splash every last drop of water out!
​From keeping the nesting blue t**s and magpies well-fed to her daily "pigeon committee," she’s never alone in the garden. The pigeons actually know her schedule; they flock to her at the exact same time every day, knowing there’s a cheeky biscuit waiting for them. Once they’ve had their fill, they’re more than happy to just sit and keep her company.
