Since it's mental health week we thought it would be a great idea to wake up the mind, body and soul and simply LAUGH 💙

MENTAL HEALTH WEEK 💚

Dancing and singing are very important for elderly people because they bring happiness, comfort, and connection. They help residents feel included, confident, and part of a community. Music can also bring back special memories and create magical moments together.🙏💙

Benefits of dancing and singing:

- Keeps the body active and moving. ✌️

- Helps improve mood and confidence & is a massive plus to helping mental health.

- Encourages friendships and social interaction. 🤝

- Brings back happy memories through music.

- Helps people living with dementia feel calm and connected.😌

- Creates laughter, smiles, and joy.

- Gives residents something fun to look forward to.

- Helps everyone feel loved, included, and part of one big family. 💙

Milton House is such an amazing, loving and welcoming home. What makes it so special is not only the wonderful residents and dedicated staff, but also the incredible family and friends who surround us with kindness and support every single day.

The respect shown here is truly beautiful — not just towards their own loved ones, but towards every resident in the home. It creates such a warm, caring atmosphere where everyone feels valued, included and loved.

At Milton House we are more than just a care home, we are one big family, and it is a privilege to be part of such a compassionate and supportive community ❤️

Here are just a few examples of us making magical memories this week with our incredible line dancer Penny, our beautiful therapy dog Lady, and of course our much loved Friday virtual quiz. Moments like these bring so much laughter, joy and togetherness to everyone at Milton House 🩵

A week in Milton House 💙

At Milton House we are big believers that NO ONE should ever be "Left" in a home and live every day the same as the last! ❌

We believe that everyday should be different, we aim to bring enjoyment, excitement and purpose to their world 🌍
we believe that EVERYONE, Dementia residents, physically challenged, Mental health, short term, long term, old, young, residents should all live life to the fullest and we will always try our up most to keep every single one of them smiling for as long as possible
☺️✨

We started our week with an outing to Summer Hill garden centre 🦋 we finally got our strawberry's 🍓 ready to plant!! 🪏

We enjoyed sing songs and a boogie with Juliet and Lesley 🎙️

We had our lovely carman come and visit for some yoga. 🕉️🧘

And we had Marianne an amazing accordion 🪗 player come and play some old cockney songs for us for our ve day celebrations ! 🇬🇧✨

Our last week of April 🌼🪻🌹

What a beautiful and special week! 🌞
Summer is officially close!

We enjoyed a very special event this week hosted by our sister home Kingsclere Court, LADIES DAY AFTERNOON TEA 🫖
We shared lots of chats and stories with the other ladies from not only kingsclere but the ladies at our other sister home Whittingham House 🏡

We can never have to many garden days, we have made it through a long cold winter now it's time to celebrate and embrace the sun 🙏🌞

We have been very lucky and had made a beautiful vintage ice-cream trolley and of course we took full advantage of this with our weekly virtual quiz with our sister homes and then had an ice-cream treat 🍦 whilst of course .... ENJOYING THE SUN! 🌞

Our Juliet treated the residents to a manicure 💅 both ladies and gents! & Our beautiful Therapy dog lady came to visit! 🐶🐾
