“Im Drowning!” I admitted this to myself as the misery and overwhelm took over. The waters of despair rising and disappointment threatened to swallow me. “THEN GROW” said the voice in my heart, I pushed my chin up and I grew. This was a long time ago and I never drowned again.
“Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid only of standing still.” – Chinese proverb.
Growth is everywhere, as write this, springs springing, the grass, the plants, the buds, everything is growing slowly. If you pay attention, you cannot just see it but feel it. Things are starting to feel brand new.
In the journey of progress, we need moments of stillness, moments to slow down, absorb the adventure, take a look and observe, assert precision not perfection, learn from the mistakes, applaud effort and small successes, ensure confidence in choices and pathways.
What happens when you stay still? What happens if you can’t succeed? What happens if there are more excuses than progress? What happens in you fail? What happens if you’re just not good enough?………
The answer is – CIRCLES – We would be moving in circles! The more you give up and the more you done believe in yourself the smaller your life circles become. Your belief in yourself becomes less and lesss and so does your confidence; even lifestyles become stunted and repetitive. Then comes the bad habits and maybe escapism.
GROW. Bit by bit. Grow. Recognise where you want to be and make small, regular and positive steps towards your goal. Slow, steady and patiently. Head towards small achievements and appreciate them, celebrate them as you grand watch yourself GROW. Spring flowers don’t tend to “Give it a miss this year” just because they are scared of the wind!
As much as I am urging you to step out of the closing circles and grow, there is also a danger. By expecting too much and doing more than you can handle, at a speed that may trip you up then you are likely to have trouble. Carelessness, mishaps, and easy blunders that didn’t need to happen because you weren’t able to pay attention will affect you. We say at Neuronotion that there is no ‘Fear of Failure’ but a ‘Curiosity of Information’ however if you keep tripping over because you don’t have the brain space then this WILL affect your confidence and lead to a lack of control. Everything takes time whilst you build the foundations for an empire of the heart!
