The gluteal muscles are “large muscles,” so pain takes a long time to heal.

The gluteal muscles are one of the largest, thickest, deepest, and most frequently used muscles in the body, whether walking, standing, sitting, bending, tilting, lifting, or even sleeping.

🔸 Why does hip pain take a long time to heal?

1) They are large and deep, with multiple layers.
The problem often arises in the deeper layers, such as:
• Gluteus medius
• Piriformis
• Deep rotator cuffs
which are often tense and easily strained, but difficult to relieve with regular massage.

2) They are used all day, even when we're not aware of it.

The hips work constantly to support the torso.
If they're tight, the muscles don't get much rest and recover slowly.

3) They have important nerves passing through them, such as the sciatic nerve.

If the hips are severely tight, It compresses nerves, causing deep pain that radiates down the leg and prolongs recovery time.

4) Blood flow through this area is slow when the muscles are tense.

Insufficient blood supply → slows down repair.
Therefore, pain lasts longer than other muscles.

5) Sitting for long periods weakens and tightens the hip muscles.
