Back to work today for me after a 2 week holiday for the first time in 20 yrs of self-employment.

I have always worked around my work committments, taking a few days here and there, however there was a major change in my life in 2025 and I now have a partner and when for my birthday in November he suggested taking me away for a long weekend, although I always give myself my birthday off I was working the day before so said I couldn't go that day and he simply said " Can't you ask them to change?" I did and all my students said "Yes.Go have fun!".

At that point I decided it was time to allocate myself 5 weeks a year as holiday. Initially I did the "After Christmas" approach and then "Why Wait" so the week of my birthday I took the week off and the world didn't end and nobody complained or was upset in fact they respected my choices.

So many of you will have made New Year Resolutions but actions speak louder than words, do it now because before you know it will be next year's resolution!

Many of you have been attending my monthly Emotional Growth Tapping Group, which I am now making some changes to, the day and the week, it will now be on a Tuesday evening and every 2nd week and of course whilst this makes no difference to those attending it means I stick to my semi-retirment plan set 2 yrs ago of a 3 days a week .

Therefore the first meeting is:

Tuesday 13th January 6.30-8pm.

Ladies our Infinite Women sessions in Ashton and Ingol for November will be on the topic of EFT, aka The Tapping Method or Emotional Freedom Technique. This session will be on Tuesday 25th November from 10:30am at The Intact Centre, in Ingol with Janet Broughton as our guest speaker.
EFT tapping, or Emotional Freedom Technique, is a self-help practice that combines acupressure, or tapping on specific points on the body, with focusing on an emotional issue or physical pain. It's an alternative therapy believed to balance the body's energy system, reduce stress, calm the mind, and provide relief from issues like anxiety, stress, phobias, and pain.
How it works
Combines mind and body: EFT involves both a cognitive element (focusing on a specific problem) and a physical one (tapping).
Focuses on energy disruption:
The underlying theory is that negative emotions and pain are caused by disruptions in the body's energy system.
Tapping helps to rebalance this system.
Reduces stress response:
Tapping sends calming signals to the brain, particularly the amygdala, which can lower the body's stress response and cortisol levels.
Stimulates acupressure points:
It uses the same points as acupuncture, stimulating them with fingertips to release blocked energy and emotions.

Anxiety and stress
Depression
Phobias
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Cravings
Pain and physical discomfort

Only 3 days to this month's Online Emotional Growth Tapping Group!

Each month a different issue for you to reduce, by which I mean reduce the emotional attachment/pain.

Only yesterday working with my present group of EFT Trainee Practitioners we removed the memory and related fear of a car crash on the motorway and a fear of being trapped on the underground.

In the morning I worked with a client whose lack of self-belief was getting in the way of her business, she later sent me a message to say she had signed up a new client after we had removed the gap between her knowlwedge and skills and her self-belief.

How many times do hear or say that " There is never enough time"?

I hear it often from people asking for example about yoga classes or coming to my monthly Online Emotional Growth Tapping Group.

There are a number of reasons for this:

1. Avoidance - putting off until tomorrow, and the next day and the next, doing the things we like and leaving the things we don't.

2. Procrastination - worrying about what we have to/want to do, having trouble deciding.

3. Perfectionism, doing things over and over to get them just right, so a short task becomes a long one.

4. Never saying No, taking on too much, failing to delegate

5. No planning

All of these have an emotional cause.

1. I am not worthy of time, I have to say yes to everyone - as one recent client said "I wish people would stop giving me all their things", they can only give them to you if you accept them.

2. People will think I am lazy if I take time to relax.

3. It makes you feel important to be busy all the time. I attend online business networks in an evening and there are a few people who carry on working during the meeting.

4. Lack of confidence, therefore needing to go over and over a task until it is perfect.

5. Fear of failure and repercussions.

I used to be a never enough time person, always agreeing to all the requests being put in front of me so when I decided to join a regular yoga class I thought I would be badly thought of if I wasn't available. Instead people quickly accepted my boundaries, it was not the big deal I thought it was, it was OK to take time for myself. By respecting and valuing my own time, the people around me respected and valued me.

Think about why you do it, because underneath you maybe feeling resentful. When saying No, just explain why you cannot comply with the request and stick to your decision, and the world will not end! If you are a Yes person, a "Never enough time" person,
