On Thursday 12th March 2026, Scottish & Southern Energy Networks ‘SSEN’ are carrying our electrical repair and upgrade work to a significant part of Southsea

Unfortunately, we will be affected by this work, although for one day only

Due to this, our funeral home will only be open from 9.00am to 11.00am

Throughout the day, we will providing a full 24 hour service by telephone should you need help, support or care following a bereavement

We are also able, by appointment, for you to visit the home to discuss funeral arrangements
Our funeral home will be open again as normal on Friday 13th March 2026

Mayfields Funeral Directors, a funeral home wholly owned by South Downs Funeral Service of Denmead, Clanfield & Wickham.

On the 27th February 2026, my co-director Mr Martin Lee-Bapty retired from his role as Non-Executive Director, and so I am now the sole owner of the company.

So, we remain a truly local, independent and family owned funeral company carrying for our local communities.

Together with the wonderful people I work with, we will take Mayfields Funeral Director and South Downs Funeral Service into the future promising the highest possible standards of care and support.
