Forget sick leave — GPs in the UK may soon stop writing fit notes! Instead, they’ll be prescribing gym memberships and job coaches. Now I’m all for the gym…as someone who serviced the leisure sector my whole career and attends one 5 days a week I’m a massive fan BUT….is this really the answer?

Most employees off work with anxiety, burnout, or chronic pain aren’t lacking motivation — they’re absolutely depleted.
From stress.
From poor sleep.
From inadequate nutrition.
From working in environments that ignore the fundamentals of human health.

You don’t fix that with a gym pass alone.

I think what is missing from this new strategy is…

I see the whole person

When I was struggling with my own health — mentally, emotionally, physically — the only way I found my way back was by taking a HOLISTIC approach.

And now I can truly say I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been and I want exactly that for the people I work with

A healthy life isn’t just about what you eat and how you train.

It’s…

- How you speak to yourself
- The habits you create
- How you manage stress & sleep
- The stuff you read on the internet/TV (hence why I stopped watching the news- too negative)
- The boundaries you set (learning to say “NO” and not people pleasing)

Why I Chose to Balance My Blood Sugar (and What Happened Next)”

I didn’t start balancing my blood sugar to lose weight.
I did it because I was done feeling like I was constantly chasing stability in my body and mind.

Before this, I was stuck in a cycle of:
😵‍💫 Low energy + overwhelm
🍫 Constant cravings
😰 Anxiety I couldn’t shake
🌑 Mood swings + hormonal chaos
🥴 Bloating that made me feel uncomfortable in my own skin
😴 Poor sleep + foggy mornings

I’d had enough.
So I started using the exact nutrition and lifestyle interventions I now teach my clients.

And after 9 months of consistency — not perfection — here’s what changed:

✨ My mind feels clear
✨ My mood is actually stable
✨ I sleep deeper than I have in years
✨ Cravings are rare (and no longer control me)
✨ I feel calm, not chaotic
✨ My cycle symptoms have softened

My Non-Negotiables for True Health & Healing

These are the things that helped me heal from PTSD and completely change my life. They’ve been my foundation ever since (mostly—because I’m only human!).

1️⃣ Fuel my body with the right food – What I eat directly impacts my mood, energy, and resilience. I see food as my fuel, not just a quick fix.

2️⃣ Move to enjoy, not to chase the “perfect” body – Exercise is about feeling strong, energized, and alive, not punishing myself to fit a certain image.

3️⃣ Keep growing & learning about what I want and who I am – Healing isn’t just about recovering; it’s about evolving, understanding myself, and creating a life that aligns with me.

4️⃣ Self-care is not selfish – Rest, saying no, taking time for myself—it’s essential, not indulgent. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

5️⃣ Prioritise sleep – No amount of caffeine or motivation can replace good, quality sleep. It’s the foundation of my mental and physical well-being.

6️⃣ Surround myself with the right people – Energy is contagious. I choose to be around people who lift me up, not drain me.

Have Hope 💜 From Rock Bottom to CEO of My Life

My life today might look like I have it all figured out, but it hasn’t always been this way. I’ve walked through deep darkness—moments of self-doubt, burnout, and feeling like I’d lost myself completely. I know what it’s like to believe the pain will never end. But I also know this: HOPE—Hold On, Pain Ends. 💜

Hope wasn’t something I passively waited for—it was something I chose. I made small, intentional decisions every day to climb out of rock bottom, even when it felt impossible. I had to become what I needed when no one else could help me. I read, researched, rebuilt my relationship with food and sleep, trained in DBT, and slowly began to heal myself. 💜

🌟 I went from believing my family would be better off without me, to waking up with gratitude and joy I never thought possible.
🌟 From punishing my body with restriction and self-loathing, to becoming the strongest, healthiest, most resilient version of myself—mentally, physically, and emotionally.
🌟 From feeling lost in my career to building a purpose-driven business that fills my soul and helps others feel seen, supported, and empowered. 💜

I became a health coach because I knew I couldn’t be the only one who felt that lost. I wanted to give others the tools, guidance, and hope I so desperately needed in my darkest days. I founded Hope Health to simplify wellbeing and help people become emotionally and mentally fit—not just to survive, but to thrive. 💜
