Imagine that your Mind becomes your friend instead of your enemy. How would you feel about having a lot of energy, taking control of your health and being satisfied with everything you do?
My name is Othman Haddad (a.k.a Otto) and since a very young age, my personal journey involved hanging suspended between two worlds: the logic of my mind and the emotions of my heart.
I never knew how to rest nor how to experience or obtain the feeling of peace. I did not even know how to simply be myself.
I was a major control freak and had become obsessive about achieving excellence in all aspects of my life. I tried to control my parents, my brothers, my environment and then eventually my health, career, personal relationships and my child.
I hated change and would have almost certainly continued living out my obsessive and controlling behaviours had I not been hit by two major and life-changing events.
The passing of my protective mother broke my heart. I could no longer find any excuse to justify not taking personal responsibility for my life any more.
When the pain of my grief became too much to handle, I was faced with the bitter truth that I had to grow up and lead a new life outside of and beyond my very narrow and restrictive mental boundaries.
Nothing made sense any more. I became a total mess with no logical answers for what I was experiencing, yet somehow this prompted me to take stock and to slowly reconnect with my body and the traumas that it had stored for many years.
Sustaining a serious sports injury as a young man meant that I suddenly had to live with a belt around my lower back. I was experiencing intense pain every day and with every movement I made. I urgently tried to target this pain with my controlling mind.
The memories of that sunny day when I was 19 years old resurfaced at once. He was tall and well built. I was quick to catch the ball with my right leg, but not quick enough to avoid the massive weight of his body falling onto my lower back.
No doctor could help me recover from that sports accident and I was prescribed only pain killers and a belt to support my spine.
Ten years later and spurred on by the passing of my beloved mother, I started reshaping my understanding of medicine and began deeply exploring my capacities of healing myself physically and emotionally.
I began investigating a wide range of healing modalities which recognise the power of the mind over the body. My healing journey took me from yoga into meditation into body work and many types of fasting regimes and alternative diets.
Most importantly, I opened a healing door for myself which involved connecting to my inner rhythms. It was this discovery which eventually led me to work with using the power of sound as a healing medium.
During my research I observed that my pain notably decreased when my energy was high, and increased significantly whenever I felt tired. This meant that in order to heal myself, increasing my energy was a high priority.
The sound – especially expressing my voice – helped me to shift a great deal of what I was holding onto, but it did not always increase my energy.
I later discovered that there was a vital ingredient that had been largely absent from my initial work with sound. It was only after a few years of working as a Sound Therapist and Coach and analysing the energy distribution in the voice of hundreds of clients using computer programmes, that the missing link for accelerating healing became clear.
As I found out, when my clients and I understood the subconscious patterns of our minds and hearts and expressed them through sound, our energy increased threefold and healing became far more accessible.
After successfully overcoming my long-held back problem and other life traumas, I put together a very simple method for healing which combines voice analysis, self-expression, body movements and mind-mapping techniques which has since helped hundreds of people around the globe.
I firmly believe that one day my vision will come to fruition: Imagine a new generation of people who can access inner-peace through understanding the truths of their hearts and minds and communicating them to the world. How powerful would that be?
I invite you to join the new Expressing the Truth movement and positively contribute to the future of humanity!
