Today we celebrate ! This year's focus is on Heathly ageing with a specific focus on preventing frailty and falls.

This is something that I am very passionate about.

We don't have to accept that ageing means poorer mobility, falls and a reduction in balance.

We can age well and remain strong!

❄️ Stay Safe on the Ice and Snow! ❄️

As the winter weather arrives, remember to take extra precautions when walking on icy or snowy surfaces.

Falls on ice and snow can lead to:

Sprains and strains: Twisted ankles, wrists, and knees are common.
Fractures: Broken bones, particularly hips and wrists, can have serious consequences.
Head injuries: Falls can cause concussions and other head trauma.
Tips for staying safe:

Wear appropriate footwear: Choose boots with good grip and consider using ice grips.
Walk slowly and carefully: Take small steps and use handrails where available.
Use a walking stick or cane: For extra stability, especially for older adults.
Be aware of your surroundings: Watch for black ice and uneven surfaces.
If you experience any pain or discomfort after a fall, please consult a physiotherapist. We can help assess your injuries and develop a treatment plan to aid in your recovery.
