(1)

I have had a fulfilling career as a nurse for 38 years, qualifying in General and Paediatric Nursing. For the last 12 years I have enjoyed working as a Practice Nurse in a GP surgery. I recently decided to make a change in my life .... I retired from nursing and trained in holistic massage therapy. I have undertaken several courses to date but plan to continue expanding my knowledge and skills. I really enjoy having massages myself and know the benefits I feel from them, and so feel motivated to offer a therapeutic, relaxing and enjoyable experience for others. Massage is a complimentary therapy and can have an impact on both body and mind. It can be used to help manage a physical/mental condition but also to enhance a feeling of well being. Amongst other effects it can help to increase flexibility and mobility of the joints, improve circulation which in turn can ease localised pain, tissue dysfunction and oedema, and strengthen the immune system. Massage can have a relaxing effect on a person’s state of mind creating a feeling of wellness, promoting body awareness and contribute towards alleviating feelings of depression and emotional trauma. I have a calm and relaxing massage room to work in and am fully insured. I have a Level 3 ITEC qualification in Swedish Body Massage and a Diploma in Indian Head Massage.
