Kirsty Davison, owner and specialist Audiologist at Holistic Hearing is delighted to host a free taster workshop that will be presented by Independent Signalong tutor Carolyn Murray.

Carolyn says” Signalong is a key-word signing system based in British Sign Language. It supports spoken English by using key signs along with the spoken word and in spoken word order.
As a signing system, it can be used for many purposes including supporting those with communication difficulties including children experiencing temporary hearing loss due to glue ear, encouraging language development in children and it can be a more immediately accessible option for someone experiencing hearing loss. BSL is of course the preferred language of the deaf community but can take many years to master.
For English speakers experiencing hearing loss, Signalong can help avoid misunderstanding as its principle role is to use key signs to support a spoken sentence. Signalong is taught allowing for the independent learning of further signs. “

Kirsty and Floyd, our Audiologists were fortunate enough to attend the Sheffield leg of the Tinnitus UK roadshow. It gave Kirsty and Floyd the opportunity to talk with members of the public about their experience of tinnitus, methods they use to manage it as well as giving us the opportunity to share our knowledge and information with them.
It was wonderful to listen to their journey and be around so many kind and caring professionals
