Reach Flower Pods Reach Flower Pods are horticultural day centres based in Southwell and Newark. We are part of Reach Learning Disability. Our head office is in Southwell.

Reach Learning Disability supports over 250 adults in Nottinghamshire. We have five centres: Reach Southwell, Reach Newark, Reach Mansfield, Flower Pod Southwell and Flower Pod Newark. We support our clients and their carers by offering courses and activities eg gardening, computer skills, arts, drama, singing and dance to promote health and wellbeing, raise confidence and self esteem. We also organise social events and holidays.

A fun filled evening was had by all who attended the Reach Newark Auction on Friday night. Thank you so much to everyone who came along and supported the event. Thanks to everyone's generous donations the event raised just over £1100 (final figure TBC!). Every penny raised helps us continue our work supporting adults with learning disabilities in Nottinghamshire.

Reach Mansfield stepped into Wonderland!🪞
We enjoyed an Alice in Wonderland-themed afternoon with some very special guests. The White Rabbit joined us to share the fascinating history behind the story and challenged the group with riddles.

There was plenty of fun with games like Pin the Grin on the Cheshire Cat, and then the magic began! Our second visitor, The Great Finonee, astounded everyone with incredible tricks and mind-reading skills. 🪄

🌻 Charlotte’s Story – Let’s Create! 🌻
Charlotte has been part of Reach since 2015. From feeling shy and unsure, she’s blossomed through gardening, photography and art at Flower Pod Newark. Today, she’s a confident client volunteer, a member of our Voice and Participation group, and even photographed a wedding!

Her journey shows how creative activities empower adults with learning disabilities to thrive — building confidence, skills and friendships.

Time has flown since our Activity Holiday, but we’ve loved reminiscing about the amazing adventures at Calvert Lakes!
Our Sunday in the Lakes was all about conquering fears: “I felt nervous doing the high ropes and would do it again!” The ropes course and zip wire gave everyone the chance to challenge themselves in a safe, accessible and supportive environment. Confidence soared as high as the swings!

Now we’re counting down to our leisure holiday this coming weekend – bring on more fun and friendship!

We’re in the Tesco Stronger Starts customer vote - a scheme which gives grants of up to £1,500. From now until mid-January, Tesco customers will vote in New Ollerton and Balderton stores to decide how much funding we get, so make use of your blue token next time you shop at Tesco!

This funding will specifically go towards supporting men who face mental health challenges and have learning disabilities, this will be through 'Cook and Grow' social sessions focussed on preparing and sharing meals.
