🌸 We are excited to be taking part in the The Nottingham Super Soapbox Challenge, racing as The Flower Pod Flyers to raise money for our charity! We've transformed our soapbox into a vibrant wheelbarrow bursting with brightly coloured flowers, capturing the joy and positivity that Flower Pod brings to the people we support every day. Our clients have been involved at every stage, from designing to building the soapbox, making this a true team effort.

Our team ready to take on the unique challenge in the Market Square includes Nicola Bradley, Flower Pod Southwell Centre Manager, Gillian Foster, Project Coordinator, and Keeley Colquit, whose passion for horticulture and the local community brings even more energy to the team.

We would love your support, whether that is coming along to cheer us on or contributing to our fundraising. Thank you for being part of our journey 🌼

We are very grateful to the British Indian Business Forum - BIBF for their generous gift of £2160 raised at their 14th Annual Dinner held at Goosedale earlier this year. The money raised will go towards the creation of a new accessible pathway in our Flower Pod Southwell polytunnel.

The new pathway will help ensure even more adults with learning disabilities can enjoy gardening courses, skills development and lots more. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

📸 Camera‑ception! Lewis and Charlotte have been putting their photography skills into practice, capturing some of the beauty of Flower Pod Newark. From ducks enjoying the pond to our woodworking volunteer hard at work, they showed a great eye for detail and composition.
It's fantastic to see confidence growing as new skills are explored, with creativity, focus and teamwork.

We are pleased to share the launch of Safer Citizens, a new film co-designed by Reach’s Voice and Participation Group to support adults with learning disabilities to volunteer safely and with confidence.
Six group members worked alongside specialist film-maker Crocodile House to create the film, using their lived experience to shape practical, easy-to-understand guidance.

The film and supporting resources were made possible thanks to a Community Chest grant from the Nottinghamshire Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner's Safer Nottinghamshire Together Fund.

Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden highlighted the importance of the project, noting that it helps adults with learning disabilities take part in community life while staying safe and confident.

The Safer Citizens resources will be used across our charity, supporting more people to enjoy volunteering and community activity.

Isobel, one of the film’s co-designers, shared:
“Being part of the Safer Citizens project was really amazing. I loved working behind the scenes and learning how to use the camera during filming.”

A brilliant day of teamwork at Flower Pod Newark 🌿

Huge thanks to the fantastic Noquet Building Services Ltd team who spent their volunteering day building a brand new outdoor classroom for Reach. With support from our own team, the space was completed in just one day.

This new classroom will give us vital extra capacity, provide shelter during extreme weather and create opportunities for practical, hands on sessions like woodworking, crafts and gardening. It will help us support more adults with learning disabilities to build skills, confidence and independence in their community.

Thank you NBS for making such a positive difference 💙
