Thank you!

A huge thank you to The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club for raising an incredible £5,394 for Reach.

We are especially grateful to Men's Captain Graham, who chose Reach as his charity of the year and encouraged members to support in all sorts of ways, from donating at club events to taking on fundraising challenges around the course.

Thank you to every member who contributed. Your generosity helps us continue our vital work supporting people and families across Nottinghamshire. We could not do it without you.

Today is 'National Fun at Work Day' and we definitely try to build that into our ethos. No two days are the same at Reach! From our head office teams meeting Santa, to centre managers, projects team, tutors and admin colleagues running brilliant sessions, day trips and holidays, to our Reach Care staff delivering outstanding one‑to‑one support, our charity is full of people who bring energy, imagination and care to everything they do.

We have also loved seeing everyone get stuck into our team‑building activities, showing their competitive and creative spirit while developing skills that help us best support adults with learning disabilities to lead happier, healthier, more connected lives.

As part of her PhD studies, Charlotte visited all our centres, joined in with projects, and even travelled with our Voice and Participation group to Liverpool for a Providers Unite rally. Through interviews, she has created a short film that gives adults with learning disabilities a platform to share what Reach means to them.

Read more about the Voice Project and watch Charlotte's film here: https://reachuk.org/the-voice-project/

Thank you, Charlotte, for your dedication and creativity. You are welcome back any time!

University of York student Charlotte Oakes created a short film sharing the voices of adults with learning disabilities.

A huge thank you to Southwell Running Club for hosting this event in aid of Reach. Providing our quality service to local people with learning disabilities would not be possible without the generous backing of our local community.

We had a fantastic Saturday with the Hawtonville community and The Woodland Trust! It's been a wonderful partnership making Hawtonville greener and it was lovely to see our carefully nurtured saplings from Flower Pod Newark go to good homes. 🌳🌲

Take on the Newark Half Marathon for Reach!

It’s a brilliant goal with plenty of time to train, and every mile you complete will help us continue supporting people with learning disabilities across Nottinghamshire.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or taking on your first big race, we’d love to have you on Team Reach.

If you'd like to run for Reach drop a comment or email sarah.cobb@reachuk.org

We’re kicking off the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend with some brilliant bird spotting in the Flower Pod Southwell garden. We used the Merlin app on iPads to recognise bird calls and identify which species were visiting us.

Our Thursday afternoon group at Flower Pod Southwell has started a four-week macramé workshop. Over the next month, we will learn core knotting techniques. It is a great way to build fine motor skills, concentration and confidence in a calm, social setting.

We've been preparing for the RSPB's Garden Birdwatch coming up next weekend, by making bird feeders by pressing lard and seeds into pine cones. These tasty winter treats will help local birds top up their energy during these chilly months.
